What if the minister came looking for Kano here in Singard, but this time Kano actually managed to kill her?" Seth: "Well, I's not really ones for the killin an' stuff but I'd says Kano's just defendin' his self. I means she's attacked him before." Pris: "I'm not judging Kano, but think about the bigger picture." Pris: "This could make things with Vespi even worse. Not just between Kano and his friends but Singard too. I know this is hard to believe but Vespi's actually got a history of going to war! As Kano's been here working on our windmill we could be targets!" Ellie: "I think it's a stretch to think Vespi's had spies out here watching our little dirt farm far from the river. No one gives this place a second glance." Pris: "Ok. That's a fair point. We're probably not going to be targets in any Vespin campaign against Kano and his friends, at least not with just the contact we've had so far. Still we should consider how much we do want to be involved going forward." Ellie: "But they've got money. Lots and lots of money." Seth: "Plus they's our friends." Pris: "I know they're our friends. Sam's with them too. But you two don't understand how dangerous the Lord of the Mines can be. If the Minister really is dead that's a blow to Vespi's reputation, to their very culture, and most especially to the ruling class! We're raised to believe she's practically invincible, the ultimate enforcer of Vespi's laws and caste culture. With rumors of a new source of metal and a dead Minister of Culture and Finance the Lord of Mines will do absolutely anything to keep or restore his power." Seth: "I's don't knows what ta say 'bouts them big things like wars and such. But maybes we's should goes and talk ta Kano and Sam and asks em what's what." Pris: "That's a good idea. This might be nothing but a silly rumor. I guess it's just those childhood stories making it hard to accept the minister could actually be dead." Seth: "I's not sure what stories ya mean." Pris: "Stories they teach about the origins of Vepsi. They say the first Lord of the Mines was shown a sign of fire raining down from the heavens which led to the location of the mines. And waiting at that location was the Minister a Culture, a divine messenger sent to guide him in building the divine city state of Vepsi. Many actually believe the Minister is still that same person all these generation later. Immortal and invulnerable, the ultimate keeper and protector of Vespin culture. If she's really dead it will hit all Vespins really hard." *Seth lets out a little chuckle.* "Heh. Sorries. I don'ts mean ta laugh at peoples losin' a parts a their culture, but like that story sounds a lot like the one Kano's tellin'. Maybe he needs to build a new city where's their flying metal landed. Hehe."
Oh no! Pris makes such a good point. If the vespins do find out who killed the minister my kano is done for. Among so many others. I hope this doesn't cause a rift between every one. Very interesting similarities between kano's story and the vespin metal origins. Probly why the vespins are so angry about kano's story.
Well I guess that's one way Hesvar could come to an end. It's possible his new source is a bit too close to home for Vespi.
My two favorite characters being upset with each other would make me so sad. And if we lose Kano because of it... Definitely. Wonder if they had found the metal some other way if the Vespins would be less upset? Like just found a new ore vein or something.
Pris and Kano are your two favorites? Hard to say. Obviously metal is very rare and the official word is they're just interested in protecting their monopoly.
They are. I love how Pris hasn't lost her kind spirit, even with everything she had to go through. I think they are related though. I think she is that way because she knows what its like and doesn't want anyone to suffer how she did. I also love her styling. Blue and white is a favorite color combo of mine. I love her so much I think I'm gonna get an Angela myself >.<. Mine will be either a sister or bff for another doll of mine. Depends on what skin tone I get. That is a ways off though. I love how Kano is so chill but still has such a good heart. Also love his drive. Its odd to see such a chill person still have such a drive for something. I'm just really rooting for him to get to the bottom of it. Very true. Still interesting though. Every legend has a grain of truth after all, and I don't think its coincidence that the Vespin's metal and Kano's metal have such similar origin stories.
It's true, especially in Hesvar. I wonder if Pris and the gang will really be better off inquiring about details they can honestly claim ignorance of right now though.
Ok, just reposted this story with major Pris dialogue edits. Upon going through some of these new (2022) stories I noticed the dialogue wasn't clean and tight and dragged on and on. So I did some calculations and sure enough many of them ranked near the top for length of text per photo. So surgery was necessary for my own satisfaction.
