well it's halloweentime, lol, so i'm trying to get pics against a black background... i'm doing pretty well with my camera using blue reveal lights, adjusting the lighting choices ON the camera, and opening or closing the aperture a bit as I need. Tonight, it's dark out; but look how washed out these are, is there something I should be doing instead? I thought maybe it was because the camera was reading too much dark. "HMM" help Nikita! I cropped this one, but that's all I did to it.
Try focusing your exposure on the doll's skin, or something equally as bright. You'll loose the details in the background, but your doll will have better detail.
How do I DO that? I don't understand how I choose where to focus the exposure. I think I'll try again when the ambient lighting in general is better - that might help - it was literally 10pm on a dark and stormy night (spooooky) when I took these...
http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/a95/a95_rec_function_menu_anim.gif You see that plus over minus 0 at the top? That is the exposure compensation. Get to that part in the menu and decrease to -2.
