Resin Comparison Help! White Resin Match- Illusion Garden Vanilla White

    1. Hi! I'm looking to try and match Illusion Gardens one off Vanilla White skin tone. I'm wanting to order a body asap as the order deadline is fast approaching :frownyblush: but I'm not sure which white would even come close! It's definitely a more yellowish white when under bright daylight. It's possible it yellowed naturally as it's a year old now

      I have on the left Illusion Garden's Vanilla White (2021) and on the right Switchs Rosy White (2020). (I'll be uploading these to a white resin comparison post a bit later so that hopefully they come in handy for someone~!)

      Out of the most popular company's does anyone know what might match this IG White?

    2. What bodies are you looking at getting?

      Almost all of my dolls are white hybrids of all different manufacture dates. (I have an airbrush though to color match)

      You have a faceup on this head, so honestly as long as you stick with more yellow or cream toned bodies and avoid stark white or pinky white, you should be fine. A secondhand body may be a good choice too because it'll already have a little yellowing if it's a year old or two ;)

      I've got a secondhand WS Spiritdoll Elegance body from 2015 at home. I purchased it in 2017 and here's a pic from the day I received him. The body was marked as having some even yellowing. Head is a brand new Switch WS.

      Honestly I'd love to get a body secondhand as I think some yellowing would actually lend really well to this Vanilla skintone.

      I could never find a sculpt however that was soft enough and tall enough for what I was looking for until just recently. I stumbled on the Natural Bodies thread on here and saw Vings 68cm boy body and I think it'd be just perfect for him! Found it right on time too since the V2 re-release is near closing.

      Vings is super generous with color choices! This is the list below:

      But that's also where the issue lies I'm so new to the hobby I honestly have no idea what most of these whites look like. Aside from Switch's Rosy White. From my extensive hours of image searching I feel like Sooms Cream White, Loong Souls French White, or maybeee Volks Normal skin tone might be my closest bet? *_*

    4. I honestly wouldn't worry too much about resin matching. Faceups, wigs, and clothes hide so much of it. And in the end, if your resin is from two different companies it'll yellow at different rates and colors regardless.

      Dollzone white and Soom cream white both are mellow warm tones (I own both!) and I think those would be good choices as well. I've actually got a Soom head on a DZ body and they match pretty well!

    5. @oninochi :D Comparing these two skin tones to an image I took of my boy under Daylight lighting as well I feel much more confident now that either Soom's Cream White or Dollzone's White would be the right choice! I can finally put my order in with more confidence <3

      You're absolutely right as well! Regardless of the resin color honestly the body is often mostly covered by clothing and resin does yellow differently so I shouldn't get myself so worried about matching it's inevitable that I'll need to do alterations myself . I could always just break out my own airbrush later on and match the head to the body more closely once this faceup eventually chips/fades and needs to be redone (I wouldn't dare prior haha :lol:).

      Thank you so much for this wonderful reference and all of your help!!! I'll have to get on aiming for that Marketplace access so I can see all the wonderful dolls DOA has to offer! I'll also definitely be posting an update once my boy is complete! Hopefully it'll help out anyone else looking to match IG Vanilla White in the future.

    6. When searching for a head for my Miracle Doll white body, I was told that Dollzone white skin is an almost perfect match for them. So you might try looking at Miracle Doll for a body as well, if you think DZ is a good choice ^_^
