Help wanted, pattern for 1/12 kimono

    1. It's really hard to find tiny bjd patterns it seems, does anyone know of patterns for minis, would like kimonos but, this girlie needs some close so others would be appreciated too!

    2. I'm definitely no expert, but I do know that kimono patterns can be really simple, just rectangles that you sew together and hem. I think it would probably be very easy to scale the pattern up or down from an existing doll or even human kimono pattern. (That's how I made a kimono for my 1/4 doll, I just scaled the rectangles down from human size.

    3. Kimono don't really need a pattern - as @Mirror said, they're just rectangles! It's not 100% accurate, but I usually just make three long rectangles, the width about the length of one arm, and then modify from there. However, it gets tricky if the doll is pear-shaped - my IslandDoll AnAn's kimono is actually modified off of a hanfu pattern to allow for her hips.

    4. I guess I could try shrinking a pattern, I didnt really think about that. I tried without a pattern and I got the front lapels all wrong. Thanks both for the idea though! I'm not the most visual or creative of person so it helps to have a reference ^^;

      It's by a Japanese lady but there are English captions. I like how she simplifies complicated-seeming patterns for small doll scale.

    7. This person has a pattern and a YouTube tutorial for a barbie sized kimono, but you can adjust it how you need to to fit your doll. The YouTube channel is under the same name.
