I’m looking to make one of my OCs into a 1/4 sized doll. My dream sculpt for her would be Broken Maiden Moth, but since she is quite hard to find (and very expensive), I would like to have some other options. So if you know any 1/4 (42-46cm would be good) sized female dolls that would some what fit these requirements, please let me know! The requirements are: - not too child like, the character is about 30 years old. - skinny - quite realistic features, and not too pretty or perfectly beautiful, preferably a bit tired or sad expression, maybe a stronger brow ridge and heavier eyelids - can be made into caucasian/northern european looking I would be very thankful of any suggestions, I’m starting to be quite desperate.
Are you familiar with Maskcat Doll? Your description made me think of them. You can find them at Alice's Collections or Denver Dolls. Good luck in your search!
Thank you for the suggestion! I am actually familiar with them, but I think their 1/4 dolls are just a bit too young looking for what I have in mind.
There's some indie sculptor who makes dolls that look like Renaissance paintings, but I cannot for the life of me remember their name. Those sculpts were rather unusual, not too "pretty". Perhaps someone else knows who I'm talking about??
I'd recommend Nakana Doll's Valena or Ryan sculpts! They're 42cm and would look right at home alongside a Broken Maiden Moth stylistically. (That may be who @babezoid is referring to? Most of their dolls are the "classical" series which fits that vibe.)
I recommend Souldoll. Their dolls are very expressive and many of them are sad looking, and have a fantasy/dark fantasy feel, even if they are just "normal" dolls. The "Soul-Kids" which are around 43-ish cm definitely do not look like kids and the bodies are quite mature. That said, I would very much suggest looking at user pictures of their dolls. Some people have expressed that they don't look like their promo photos. The thing is, they do look like their photos from the right angle, but they also look very different from others. They can also look wildly different depending on the face-up and it's very easy to make them look younger or more mature depending on what kind of look you're going for.
These dolls actually are very close to what I am looking for, I’m just a bit bothered of their eyes being so far from each other. Otherwise Valena would be a perfect doll for this. It sucks to be this picky. Anyways thank you so much for this suggestion! I really consider Valena, maybe the ”eye problem” could be fixed a bit with a good face up?
