Help me recreate an Idealian75 outfit for fashion doll scale

Oct 2, 2024

    1. Hello everyone,

I hope I'm posting this in the right forum.

I was lurking around Idealian's website the other day, admiring the outfits they have. I found this outfit that I really love (maybe because it reminds me a bit of Seifer Almasy from Final Fantasy 8), but since dolls that size are just too large for me plus the outfit is long sold out, I thought I want to try to recreate it in fashion doll size. Since I'm planning to get myself an Iplehouse FID in the near future anyway. Since I cannot sew, it's only buying or commissioning.

Here are some pictures of the outfit:

I already found some of the basic items for the outfit on SartoriaJ's website, but alas they are all sold out right now. They have a white longsleeve shirt with buttons, black suit pants and black chelsea boots.

These are the items I need:
      Coat/Cape: ?

Neck-Chain: Maybe create it myself if I can find the right materials.

Shirt: SartoriaJ, basic white shirt (currently sold out) or Iplehouse

      Vest: ?

      Chest harness: Etsy?

Gloves: I know the gloves will probably be impossible on that scale, so I got nothing here yet.

Pants: SartoriaJ, black suit trousers (currently sold out)

      Leg belt thingies: ?

Shoes: SartoriaJ, black chelsea boots (currently sold out)

So, the only places I know of that sell clothes that fit Iplehouse FID male dolls are Iplehouse, SartoriaJ and Raccoon doll. If anyone could point me to other places (Etsy, Instagram, other shops.) that sell clothes for this size, I would really appreciate it.

Anymore ideas for the other items is also greatly appreciated.

      Thank you for looking. <3

    2. I'd say your first direction is to look for people who make *anything* in that specific size, and go from there. You might also find that people who commission for slim minis could fit a harness set that was adjustable- Working buckles.
I wish I could be more helpful, but FID is such a specific size.

    3. GuluUp has a couple of suit sets they'll customize for 1/4 scale that include similar vest/shirt/pants. You could always contact them and ask if they'd be willing to do just a vest custom if you don't want the rest of the pieces for other outfits, since they're not cheap. BeckystudioArt sometimes has 1/4 customizable suit listings, but they don't currently. The chest and leg straps could be made with some faux-leather straps and mini buckles from CharleneluDesign or ISewForDoll, some superglue, and a small awl - no sewing required. Your best bet for gloves would probably be a WTB under "Handcrafted Goods" in the Marketplace and asking for someone who owns an FID to make them for you; same for the cape.

Esefdolls sews for that size range, but does a more modern casual style if you want to get into that later! CityOfMastersStudio knits for FID, and does so beautifully. They're the only ones I know off the top of my head on Etsy that make specifically for that build of mature male minis, though I haven't done as deep a dive as I could on the topic.

    4. @dm_sof Thank you for all these suggestions, very helpful.

Yes, I was already thinking to make the belt and harness myself, I found AtelierMilabrocc on Etsy, they sell belts for Bjds, I could use these for the legs.

And thank you for pointing me to GuluUp, never heard of that store before. Going to check them out.
