Hi, I only have one doll with an SD13 body so I don't know if this is normal or not ops: I hope someone here can help me and answer my question? There is a loose round part in the upper torso of my SD13 Shiro and it seems his upper torso bends back a lot more than before. Now I just wanted to know if that is normal since I haven' t taken him apart yet and never noticed the loose part. It is round and the strings go trough it.
I just like, peered into my Isao's body, and there appears to be a sort of lump thing that's attached to the lower half of his torso, which the string feeds through. It's not loose, but it looks like it wasn't cast as part of the lower torso, but glued or something in. Perhaps that's what's in your Shirou, and it's just come loose or something? Does it fit into the top part of the lower torso (on the inside, where you can't see it)? O_o otherwise, I've got no clue. I've never heard of something like that before.
That is actually really common with all Volks SD-13...that part can be jostled out of place. It happens more on the boys. You need to glue it back in...is easiest to unstring, imho.
yup, that happened to me. you have to take him apart, i just can't see how you could possible glue that piece in place and let it dry in the correct position without doing so. one of the doll masters from volks fixed mine at the SDC, he used super glue. good luck!
thank yo very much I would have unstrung him soon anyway as he is strung too loose ops: Thank you, I'm so glad there is nothing broken and it can be glued

Kei suffers from the dreaded Loose Inner Torso Syndrome, and it has finally irritated me enough to warrant taking him apart to fix it. What's the best brand of glue for such an operation? Is there a page somewhere that illustrates how the piece is supposed to sit? Thanks! Annika
well I will tell you what I used on my MSD, but please dont lauf... I used to do peoples nails (nail Tech), so used nail glue, I didnt have any other at the time, its very like super glue.... and cheap, can get it often from chemists/drugstores, and hasnt moved at all been brilliant.... (its was called Elegant touch glue) I had it cos id run out and hadnt been to the wholesaler... :wink:
I used nail glue too. Sally Hansen. o_O But like, I didn't have to take apart my little girl to do it...I just pulled on her elastic like whoa and used my foot. x_x;;
Use the instant permanent gel glue... The one that comes in a liquid form in a tinyl tube that even glue together your fingers XD Sorry I forgot the exact product name but you should be able to get it easly in local hardware stores.
Me, I used bog-standard super glue. And yep, I think I stuck my fingers together at LEAST once. But it worked just fine, there and on those popped-out thigh joints too.
I used epoxy putty. I was determined that the bastard thing would not move again. >:E I've done sculpture... and I've made several dolls. that whole inner waist joint, at least on the SD13's, is a shoddy way to do it. u.u
I'm using nail glue too!! HAHA! I use it for just about anything stubborn, Since I've found it'll hold anything BUT nails heehee
There's a super glue called "ZAP-A-GAP" and it simply rocks with resin.I reccomend it for all BJD repairs! There are 3 vicosities. Yellow being thick ,green is medium,and red is water thin. You can also get an "accelerator" you spray on and it sets up the glue immediately. :wink:
