Specific Doll Help ID-ing doll from ~2008

    1. Solved! It's a Dolkot Leaf

      ------------------------------------------

Hi there, This may be a long-shot but I'm hoping someone might recognize this doll or be able to point me in the right direction. I had her packed away for so many years that I've completely forgotten where I got her!

      Photos here: imgur.com

      What I remember:

      • The company had some sort of rotating theme, similar to Soom's monthly dolls but less fantastical. I'm almost certain she was advertised as "one of a kind" rather than "limited edition". (I remember being confused about the difference and thinking it was an inaccurate term because the only thing that set her apart was the faceup and clothing. The face sculpt was part of their regular inventory, I believe.)
      • She was part of a duo and I think the theme was something along the lines of rose garden, princess, or tea party? Her photos included a "sister" doll who dressed similarly. I actually remember finding a photoshoot of the sister doll posted here on DoA shortly after getting her. I've tried to track it down but without much to go on haven't had any success.
      • Apparently, according to 2007-me, I noted on my profile that I was eyeing a Dollzone Cherry at the time. From the photos I can find, it doesn't seem like the same sculpt but it could mean the maker is possibly Dollzone? I tried searching Archive.org but didn't have much luck as there weren't many saved pages from that time.

      • I want to say the box was pink or white and had a relatively short name (maybe an acronym?) but I could be totally misremembering here.
      Distinct features:

      • The ears are removable but didn't come with any replacements so I'm not sure what style the other ones would have been.
      • The knees and elbows are single-jointed.
      • Not pictured: The eyes were held in place by super soft and goopy white clay(?). Seriously, this stuff was like no other clay I've ever seen. It's been sitting for 15 years and still just as soft as clay that's been heated up and kneaded for an hour.
      • There's a removable, rounded resin chip padding the S-hook in the head. No identification markings anywhere in the head or on the body, though.
Phew, I think that covers just about everything I can think of! I tried to include photos of the important parts but if there's anything I missed that would be more helpful I'd be happy to include more.

    3. Yes, I think you're right! Looks like Dolkot closed a few years later, no wonder I was having so much trouble finding info. Thank you! :3nodding:
