    1. I've admired BJDs since I was a kid, I'm pretty sure it either started because I would look through old Gothic & Lolita Bibles (that my parents owned for some reason?) and saw something in there or because I watched Rozen Maiden Zurückspulen (without watching the previous installments in the series, I didn't really know what I was doing, just watched whatever anime I could get my hands on...) I turned 22 at the end of December and decided that I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy one because I've wanted one for so long!

      Anyway, that's all to say that I'm new to this but have appreciated it for a long time! I'm intrigued by meetups, they look fun. Though a lot of the social stuff seems intimidating, I'd like to eventually make some online BJD friends regardless! I'd also maybe want to join a discord server but I'm not sure how/which to join. I guess I'm thinking since I spent so much on my doll it'd really be a waste not to fully immerse myself in anything related to it!

      I go by Ryan and use he/him pronouns. I'm a student right now, and a painter!

    2. Hello, you’ll love it here, it’s where I started in the bjd hobby, there is so much information and so many forums to explore.

      IG is nice for doll posting but personally I tend to like it here the most.

      Anyway, have fun, it’s a great hobby!

    5. Hi Ryan!! It sounds like we have a really similar trajectory, I also decided to immerse myself in late Dec 2025 after following BJD from the sidelines for half my life. I'm in a local (my city) BJD discord which has been nice because its not too huge and intimidating, I also joined some blind box dolls discords, again because its a bit more niche its easier to join in than a gigantic server. I've also been enjoying instagram for dolls but I'm not a huge instagrammer so I don't spend much time there aside from watching doll reels for 15min or so lol

    7. yes me too!! I mean I would probably still enjoy my dolls solo as well but the community aspect of it has been so encouraging and nice as well, I'm really glad I get to experience that too!!
