Hello!

Hello everyone! I am still relatively new to the hobby, and probably a bit of an oddity in that I am male. I have been fascinated with BJD's for years but never actually considered getting into collecting until I ran across Alice's Collections and fell in love with several dolls there. I ended up ordering Yoly (Gem of Doll) and Winnie (Ring Doll). I just got Winnie the other day and am totally taken with how beautiful she is! I LOVE the outfit, it's adorable and I am completely blown away with the quality! No buyers remorse here, and I can't wait for Yoly to ship, she is super cute! I've done a ton of research into different companies, this site has helped avoid any problems. I've had to clear some space on my mantle to display them and even ordered 3 dolls from ADVillage that caught my eye, Faye, Lona and "Mysterious Vampire Loli". I feel a little awkward about my new hobby, I certainly don't feel comfortable discussing it with family, I'm sure they would think it was pretty weird but I live alone so I can decorate my house as I see fit and I adore these beautiful dolls. I don't know how active I can be here, but I plan to peruse the threads to get a feel for things and hopefully avoid making a fool of myself. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and hope to see you all around!

 

Thank you! Been a hectic week, so I'm just now getting around to replying. I'm glad to see other guys on here. I'll hopefully be able to get some pictures here this weekend, not the best at photography but I'll give it a shot. So far I only have Winnie, I'm looking forward to getting Minahoshi from Tiny Fox, not exactly a BJD so I am not sure how welcome MJD's are here. I did find a thread about the brand here. I just thought Minahoshi was too adorable not to get!

 

Thank you very much! I'm glad you like the dolls, I spent a LOT of time perusing different sites and when I came across ADVillage I kinda went nuts, lol. Their dolls are just so lovely looking! I expect a goodly wait before I get any of them. I'll definitely post pictures when I get Yoly, or any of the others. I need to figure out how to get good photos though, I don't have ideal lighting where I live but I'll see what I can do.

 

Thank you! I'm glad to find a welcoming site, it would be nice to have friends in the hobby irl, but that's not happening any time soon, unless some family member is sneaking BJD's on the sly... I'll be fiddling with pictures of Winnie for starters, hopefully my other dolls will arrive before I die of impatience.
