Welcome! Just so you know, since Imomo Dolls are vinyl, they're off-topic for DoA, but they're so cute! I love how Jane's Doll Land also offers face-ups on all(?) the dolls they sell.

As for "starter" doll, I wouldn't say that any doll is really a "starter". I always suggest to go with what you'd like but if you're trying to just dip your toes into the water, so to speak, make it one you really want, and not just because it's "cheap". Part of me wishes I knew that before getting into the hobby and did more research before taking the plunge. But then I wouldn't have ended up with my first, a Bobobie Isabella that I still have to this day! I was so impatient when it came to getting a doll because I was so excited that I ordered her in-stock from Denver Doll.

The chibi anime look is so cute! Depending on what size you're looking for, check out MYOU's Sandra. She's 40cm and absolutely adorable.

 

The best starter doll is the one you want the most, regardless of price. There's an endless amount of BJDs available now, so look at as many as you can before making a decision! Just be sure to read all feedback about the company you're buying from. Research is incredibly important!

 

The first Lutsdoll I ordered was a kid delf kai romance, I've ordered a Jun Ha since then ) And Violet is my little angel~ I hope to get her a profile but I've been lazy about taking a picture I'm really happy with.
It's a lot of fun to see what people choose, isn't it? Part of why I like dolls so much is that there's so much variety both within and across the different brands. Making them really is an art form.
