Hello!

May 14, 2024

    1. Hello everyone! I was accepted, so here is my introduction!

My name is Mazz and I'm 27! I have been vaguely interested in BJDs for a few years, but actively interested in them for about a year. I have yet to get a doll, but I am interested in getting one soon! I will say I have been a little too busy lately to figure out my dream dolls yet (as I was finishing my last semester of law school) but I have seen a few that I am interested in! I like Aimerai and Myou Doll styles, but I am also open to styles like Soul Doll and Dream Valley. Hopefully I will be able to get my first doll soon!

I have collected anime figures with my wife for over 5 years, but I have also collected things my entire life. I currently still collect anime figures, but I also collect K-pop albums and stuff with music, and books. I am happy to be here and I hope to learn a lot while I'm here!

    3. Hello, I'm new here, too, to BJD collecting and also to DoA! Congratulations on surviving law school! (Or almost there, if your last term isn't over yet.) Getting your first BJD sounds like an awesome graduation gift!

I just got a Smart Doll, and I love her. I also own a SartoriaJ 45 cm doll, and mostly plan to collect in that size, but after buying three dolls kinda at once, I'm done with buying dolls themselves for a while, lol. Now it's time for clothing, and learning more about sewing my own patterns.

Are you mostly thinking of displaying your dolls, or doing a lot of active posing with them?

    4. Welcome! If you want to learn more about bjds, this is definitely the place! I've been here a few years and I'm still finding new things to research. There are sections here for crafting, sewing, wig-making, eye-making - in my experience, people are generous with answering questions and sharing their knowledge.

I hope you have fun getting to know the website!

    5. Hi! it's nice to meet you! I finished the semester a few weeks ago and am now waiting for graduation itself. I have to start studying for the bar soon too, so life will be a little crazy for me for a bit!

That's awesome! I'm glad you found a doll you love!! I think custom clothes are one of the coolest parts of BJDs!

I think I'll probably focus on displaying them! I love to come up with cute and creative ways to display my collections, so it will be fun to work with anything new!

    6. Thank you, and I'll look forward to seeing pics of your doll once you've chosen one and it arrives! Best of luck with studying for the bar, I know it can be an onerous and taxing period, but hopefully it'll be over and you can move on and celebrate more afterwards!

Displays sound like so much fun, and a perfect way to express creativity! Especially if your time has to be taken up with a lot of studying. Hopefully they'll be gorgeous background that keep you company and make you smile whenever you surface from the study sessions.

I'm definitely looking forward to learning more about all of the subjects that @StellaMarigold mentioned, thank you so much for the summary on that! It's awesome to hang out with other collectors who are as interested in the topic, so I don't overwhelm my friends and family who are kinda politely nodding at my latest collection without really vibing with it personally.

    7. Hello and welcome to DoA!
