Hello

May 28, 2023

    1. Hi! My name is Blue.
I've been lurking on this site for nearly the last four years and finally gathered the courage to introduce myself. ^^
I'm located in northern Germany and will be 32 next month.
I've loved BJDs for a long time and last year I finally got my first doll, a Lillycat Newt in Cream Coffee, and at the beginning of this year I actually was brave enough to do her face-up.
I love sewing and crafting and I'm currently trying to modify doll clothing patterns in a way that they'll fit my Newt and her unusual proportions.
If anyone has tips on finding shoes for her, those would be highly appreciated as I struggle to figure out which shoes to buy.

    2. Hello ^^ It’s nice to see other doll enjoyers from Germany! I hope you post some pictures of your doll some time :3nodding:

    3. Welcome :3nodding: I'm from Austria, therefore it's always lovely to see some other collectors from Europe on here. Have a wonderful stay and hopefully someone can help you with finding shoes for your doll!

    4. Welcome! I was also a lurker for quite a while before interacting - it's a great way to learn and to feel comfortable in your own time :) Lillycat dolls are really unique and lovely! They definitely have unusual proportions, though, so I can see how drafting patterns could be challenging. There are threads devoted to sharing sewing projects, so you may enjoy posting in them in the future.

I hope someone can help with the shoes as well. There is probably a Lillycat-specific thread around here where there might be more suggestions. If there isn't one, you can start one!

    5. Sorry for the late reply, I appreciate all of your messages, just had to collect enough bravery to post again. That took some time... even though I know in my head that nothing bad will happen if I post here, I still feel apprehensive and don't even know why :c

Thank you! I've posted a profile for my Lillycat Newt (her name is Colette), there are two pictures of her there.
More picture will probably take some time though, my sewing machine protests being used and had to go for a check-up.
They will follow as I complete clothes for Colette :3

Thank you! I hope so as well, we'll see I guess :3

Thank you! I tend to start out with the patterns requiemart has for sale for 1/4 dolls and adjust them as necessary. It usually takes about two to three mock-ups before I have modified them enough to have a working pattern for my Lillycat Newt (Colette).
I'll definitely need to check those threads out, you're right, I might enjoy posting there.
For now I need to wait for my sewing machine to get back from it's check-up before I can continue :3
True, there probably is a thread for for Lillycat-specific suggestions, I have yet to find it though ^^ No worries though, I'll get there :3

    6. Congrats on your doll. I'm new to the hobby but have loved dolls my whole life.

      I'm new here as well.

    7. Ironically I've had an account for 5 years, but still have not introduced myself, simply lurk and admire everyone. So hello! Congrats on your first doll! <3
