Hello :)

May 3, 2023

    1. Hi, I've been waiting on making an account for a while, and now I'm ready! I look forward to learning new things about this awesome hobby!
I've been in the hobby for only about two years. I got into bjds through my sister who collects and sculpts them. Also because it seemed like you can combine so many hobbies into one. I've always been into crafting and doing different art projects, including painting and sewing. I've been into writing and creating characters too. So when I learned that you could almost combine those hobbies into one, it seemed like so much fun!
First I was really interested in 1/6 scale dolls, SDs seemed far too big and expensive. After finally getting one, I realized that sewing for that scale was a lot harder for me than I thought, and also, I wasn't quite bonding with the boy I had gotten. So, I just started to sew things for my sister's SD, practicing doing things for that size. It was only when I found a sculpt that really spoke to me that I really got deep into the hobby. After that, I got my first SD and now I'm just growing my doll family from there!
Love to hear what got others into the hobby!

    2. Welcome! BJDs are a great hobby for artists and crafters! :D Your experience learning about what sizes you like most is not uncommon. Sometimes it's hard to know whether you'll bond, until you've had a chance to handle them in person. The more dolls you play with, the easier finding new family members gets. Which SD did you fall in love with? :)

I got into the hobby back in high school, I think it was around 2006, but I can't remember the exact events surrounding it. I do remember that my ultimate grail back then was Dream of Doll Homme Ducan in his full set form... never got him though :blush Many dolls have come and gone since then. I went from 1/3, to 1/6, and now my favored size is 1/4, but I don't mind some variety in my collection ;)
