The rules of the forum are over here, in case you haven't had the chance to read them yet. The two I see newbies most often mess up on are the ones about marketplace transactions and recast dolls. The marketplace is a special sub-forum that you can't access right away, specifically for buying and selling secondhand dolls and accessories. Because the marketplace is gated, we aren't allowed to make any posts asking about buying or selling things in the rest of the forum. As for recasts, that's the term the bjd community uses for bootleg dolls-- they were "cast" once by the original artist, and then "re-cast" by a bootlegger. Linking to, or posting images of, recast dolls is not allowed. However, if you come across an offsite listing you're unsure about, you can post a thread in the Ask the Moderators subforum for them to look at. They don't want you to get scammed!

I don't know much about Volks dolls myself, but I can tell you the basics. Volks is one of the oldest bjd companies around! They may even be the oldest one still operating, but I'm not sure. They make both resin and vinyl dolls. The resin dolls are "Super Dollfies", and the vinyl dolls are "Dollfie Dreams". MSD actually stands for Mini Super Dollfie! A lot of other doll companies and communities have adopted the term as a general catchall for that specific size of doll, but the term came from Volks originally.

F-19 is the name of your girl's unique face sculpt. Many Volks sculpts have numbers like this instead of more human names, although some have both. (I think?) I believe the system works something like... Volks has a very small number of dolls that they sell all the time, just two or three. Sometimes, though, they'll open orders through the Full Choice System, where you can choose from a much larger variety of sculpts. I think the sculpts that are exclusive to the full choice system are all named F-[XX], but I could be way wrong on this! Hopefully an actual Volks fan will come along and give you more accurate info, haha.

I don't know alot about Volks either beyond the basics, but I do have some tips for where to start looking.

First, check out the Wiki. You can brows it by category or use the search function. Note that wiki is separate from the forum, so a seach within the wiki will not show forum posts and vice versa.

Second, we have the forum. In the "Discussion" section there are company specific discussion threads. You can use the search function to find the Volks threads if you don't want to search manually.

It's always worth to have alook through the galleries as well since there may be owner pictures. Doll profiles is another place to search for other owners of a specific doll. Not everyone makes doll profiles, but some does and it's always worth a try.
