I have always like puppets and dolls, and wanted to learn how to make them since I was younger. Sadly I do not currently own any ball jointed dolls; but I'm starting out on learning to do sculpts for making them for the first time. I've already gathered most of the tools and supplies I need to begin! It will be great learning from other doll artists here as things progress. If anyone has any useful beginner tips for any of the doll making process I am very much looking forward to hearing from you. And, I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing about others collections, creations and anything they love about the hobby.
Welcome There's plenty of information on creating your own dolls, you should look under workshop/making a bjd!
I love your ambition, and I hope you'll make a go of it. I know there are many paths to making your own dolls, some are using new resin printing which apparently has gotten more high quality in recent years. I also have seen some beautiful traditional one off designs posted by various artists here. I'm sure if you check around, you'll find some inspiration, and maybe you'll show us what you're working on too.
