Hello to a new start!

Hi I'm Nimaine,

I joined ages ago. I admired the beauty of bjd's but I didn't have a job when I first joined, and while I technically "had" the money it was the usual childhood birthday savings, etc. I couldn't quite justify spending it all at once.

In the intervening years I found other interests to distract me, and learned I may not actually want a large heavy doll, no matter how beautifully they photograph. I won't say never, I do still want one, but not right now. And I've been feeling that "not right now" for a while.

Instead I recently found some blind box off topic dolls and that got me interested in the hobby again. I have always found anthro characters fun and easy to draw, and am thrilled there are more anthro dolls out there. So for my birthday, I ordered a orion fox version from gem of doll (through alice's collections). I later caved and ordered a face up (I like drawing and painting on cheap figures, never done it for expensive ones but I want to try! but maybe not for the very first resin doll). I am afraid I did not consider fully what pre order meant- that it really is made to order, and no, it wouldn't just take about a month to get to me because of shipping alone. So now I am waiting impatiently (so impatiently, in fact, I ordered the very last unpainted Bora of dream valley from denver doll- he's home with me now, waiting for an unboxing!). So yes, I also discovered more animal dolls out there too, especially dragons which are my favorites!

I think Dream Valley Bora is on topic as an animal doll, I was hoping to make a profile, is this all right?

Thanks dovedoll7! I hope he comes soon too, but I guess I will just be playing with Bora until then. It's good to know it's a good company.

 

So I have been taking time off these forums to do other life stuff, including a face up/body painting for my Bora. But sorry for the late replies!
JL_Anderson -It's cool to meet another anthro artist! I like canines in general, and to me Orion does fill that niche very nicely, while also still being big, but not overwhelmingly big.

sanctuary -good to meet another animal doll lover! I have some smaller off-topic anthro dolls, chibi style, which is cute, but not my favorite style (but still, very cute).
