    1. Hello everyone! I'm a university student living in New Zealand. My interest in BJDs was piqued late last year when I came across a website featuring a ton of info about them. I could not stop thinking about them for a long time afterwards, and here I am on this forum!

      I feel like I definitely love dolls with a more hyper-realistic look, such as Raccoondoll and SartoriaJ, but I do love Volks Super Dollfie-style dolls too. I also really love Kinoko Juice's dolls - while a resin Kiki is out of my budget right now, I have loose plans to get a Kikipop at the end of the year. The money for BJDs is holding me back, but I enjoy looking at dolls nonetheless!

      I look forward to seeing all the wonderful creations posted here and I also look forward to talking to you all!

    2. It took me a while to wrap my head around the expense of this hobby. On the plus side, taking the time to learn what's out there, how to avoid the recast pitfalls, and waiting for the right second hand deal to come your way doesn't have to be too boring when you've got the project journals, photo galleries & discussion groups to join here!

    5. Welcome to the site, and the hobby! You can enjoy this hobby without immediately owning a doll, in my opinion. I hope you can have one soon but spend this time researching and looking into customization options (from clothing to wigs, eyes, face ups, etc.) and before you know it the time will fly. This is a more expensive hobby but I can tell you if you do the research and take care of your dolls you can always resell and re-cooperate most funds, in my experience at least.
