Hello, I'm Muu!! I've been collecting dolls ever since I was a small child, and have been fascinated with ball jointed dolls for years and years now. Most of my dolls are bargain-bin rescues that I've doctored up the best I can. I grew up lower, middle class and owning a BJD felt like a pipe dream to me, so I was content with what I had, and felt incredibly lucky to be able to afford the dolls I did - and still do - own. Despite my acceptance of not being able to afford my own BJD, I never stopped researching everything I could about them. The best sites to order...what dealers are...how to string a doll...how to sculpt a doll...differences between resin and vinyl...I was living vicariously through many different doll blogs, tumblr posts, and youtubers, and was happy being able to watch other people show off their dolls. But fast forward to now, as an adult, after saving and saving and SAVING, I finally have my very own BJD. Even if I only ever own one doll, he is my beautiful doll and I love him very much. He's a UFdoll 1/4 model I have named Carl, and I absolutely love him to bits. Hopefully someday, I will be able to get him a friend, but right now I am happy as I am!! Aside from dolls themselves, I like to make handmade doll accessories. I have made Carl dollie many books and shopping bags, some playing cards to keep him busy, and hope to make many more!!! If you ever have suggestions of mini accessories you'd like to see, I'd love to hear them...I'm always looking to craft new things!!! I get nervous when it comes to talking, but hope to see all your lovely dollies and share my own adventures too!!
Hi, Muu! I'm new here too! Have you tried crafting food? I did some mushrooms from LaDoll, it was fun!
Hi Muu! Welcome to DoA! It can definitely be on the expensive side so it’s always hard to save up for dolls you really want. So much has changed over the years in this hobby but there is always so much going on and being updated. I try to do what I can in the hobby but it seems like I’m lacking more in time than anything else. I love putting my dolls on display but I dont have spare time to change them up or restyle them which kind of makes me sad. They still bring me joy so I love looking at them.
