folklorist who specialises in fairies. the fairy-tale atmosphere evoked by ball jointed dolls reminds me of what i love about my life’s work. such delight i have in seeing the creativity of others in the doll profiles here. he / him.
Hello! Welcome Just last night I went looking for the tiniest of tiny bjds even though my own doll projects are very different. I love the diversity in this hobby and hope you'll find your dream doll someday!
Welcome! I hope you find your dream doll(s) soon I wonder which scale of doll you're interested in getting one?
ah, my academic speciality is in fairies, not my doll interests. that said, i adore the Doll Chateau sculpts for how nearly-human they are in a similar fashion.
i prefer 1/4 scale, but so many of them are styled to look like children or cute, so i often return to 1/3 scale. i am most intrigued by sculpts that have an unpleasantness to them - i chose my first doll, a Doll Chateau Laney, as the sculpt had such a unique irritation to its features.
i am experimenting with paint currently, as i have not painted resin dolls before, but i have loose plans for a predatory mermaid utilising the gorgeous skeletal Dream Valley abyss mermaid.
