Hi, I'm Ollie! I got really into BJDs about 15 years ago, but was around 12 years old, so couldn't really buy into the hobby. Starting my collection has been my gift to myself this year to reward myself for becoming independent and keep myself out of trouble and spending money on less constructive (or even destructive) things. I did definitely fall into the trap of buying WAY too many dolls right away though. I mostly collect 1/4 MSD size and smaller. I was most excited to paint faceups, and I've done 4 so far and really enjoy them! I also have made 4 wigs, the first one was....interesting. ¯\_༼ ಥ ‿ ಥ ༽_/¯ When her clothes come in I'll make a profile and you'll see what I mean lol. But I really like wig making too! And I'm learning slowly, slowly, slowly learning to sew little clothes for them. Currently I'm stuck on how the heck to attach sleeves! Most of the dolls I am waiting to arrive are "normal skin" or "pink normal." I'm hoping to get some more tan and fantasy skin colors going forward. I mostly like boy dolls, but I like them to be feminine and pretty That being said, I'm waiting on a couple masculine boys to arrive and am excited to see how I like them! Anyways, that's me! Thanks for reading and I hope to get to know the community a bit better in the coming year! ଘ(੭ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ✩‧˚
Hi! Nice to meet you and welcome! It sounds like we like similar dolls! I only collect 1/4 scale and smaller dolls, but I have only two at the moment (my pretty boys ). Hope to see your dolls and creations sometime!
Thanks for the warm welcome! I am planning to make doll profiles for my on-topic dolls when they're not so naked, haha! I would love to see your pretty boys. Also, I peeked at your profile and I saw you like Dragon Age! Those are my favorite video games!!
Oh awesome! It's been a long time since I played them, but I loved them so much and spent hundreds of hours Awaiting Dreadwolf when it comes I've thought of making a Cole doll someday. Maybe one day I'll find a sculpt that matches his features
A Cole doll would be so cool! I can't wait for Dreadwolf to come out either. Eventually I think I want to shell my Warden, Hawke, and Inquisitor, too.
Ha ha, yesh! I plan to make an elf girl doll next year! Fun fact: my username is the name of my Inquisitor I forgot to mention that!
Welcome! I can totally relate being someone who had an early fascination around the same age and now having the adult money to spend on it.
Welcome! I too live in a desert. I collect almost exclusively fashion scale 1/4 bjds and smaller. Although I have a few regular msd/SD/Yosd from my earlier years in the Hobby. My collection is pretty well run my elves too. I have a few fantasy colors as well. They are a lot of fun! I recommend this blog for sewing tips and patterns. Blog There are many other great doll blogs out there as well (Resin Rapture) . You'll figure out sleeves! Happy crafting!
Hello fellow desert dweller! Thanks so much for those sewing resources, I can't wait to check them out. I am so so weak for elf sculpts, something about those pointy ears (´∀`)♡
Yay long hair! Now if only the actual DA character creator had pretty hair styles as a default setting... Here is a link to an older post with a picture of my inquisitor if you are interested! What is the meaning behind your DOA username? Pt.2 And some photos of my boys! Spoiler: My pretty boy dolls
Oooh Inquisitor Sanar has lovely hair! Bioware really did us dirty with the base hairstyles they included...not as stylish as mods lol. Wow VERY pretty boys!! (°◡°♡) Great hair and such delicate clothes!!
Yesh Thank goodness for the PC modding community! Thank you! I adore making clothes and things for them The sewing threads on DoA are very helpful too!
Thank you very much! ヾ(^∇^) I've been making glue weft wigs so, there is definitely a learning curve. I am kind of intimidated by the soft cap/sewing method! It is really rewarding to see life come into the dolls with each craft made for them (wig, face, eyes, clothes, etc)
