Hello and good evening, My name is Fortune, I've been a long-time admirer of bjd. I got my first doll in 2016, which I got from a friend of mine, it's very basic, I believe it is Resinsoul's Li. I've recently wanted to revisit the hobby and learn about it more seriously. I have ordered Beatrice and Darlene from Dollzone, and I'm really excited for them! What made me originally interested in bjd was seeing bjd fictional characters. Some of my favorites include: "Plain Doll" from Bloodborne, "Parrah and Noya" from SiNoAlice, "Cornelia" from Shadow Hearts: Covenant, and "Mary" from Spirit Hunter. I'm in the J-fashion community as well, and I wanted a doll in part for the aesthetic similarities with gothic rorita fashion and to use the doll in coords. My favorite dress is Metamorphose's "Grimoire Magic Book of Starlight."
Hi there! Love the idea of seeing bjds used in coords. I was in the lolita community, and I still have all my clothes, but I stopped wearing it since moving very rural and having kids... That dress by Meramorphose is really beautiful. I've never seen it before. (Though that isn't saying much as I'm not exactly in the know anymore.) My favourite dress would have to be my Thorn Castle OP by Long Ears and Sharp Ears! Congratulations on the incoming dolls and welcome to the forum.
Hi there nice to meet you! Welcome to DOA! Congrats on your new dolls! I hope they arrive to you quickly Do you have any ideas on how you will style them or what their characters are? I love Lolita, I don’t wear it as much these days as I went more goth but I still have a few dresses from Metamorphose here and I really love some of their older stuff… My favorite brand probably is Alice and The Pirates and I especially love their Vampire Forest Print
Nice to meet everyone! I got full sets of Dollzone's Beatrice and Darlene! So I'll be keeping their default style. As far as their characters, I'm thinking of naming them "Maria and Elizabeth." Maria is quiet and Elizabeth likes to play tricks. They looks spooky so I'll be basing them off characters in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I am running and they are part of a set of possessed dolls. The two of them were created by a famous toymaker who is also a competent magician. When he lost his daughter, he spend all of his time creating dolls, and worked so hard they began to come to life. Maria and Elizabeth were two of those dolls. For unknown reasons the toymaker disappears. The dolls he left behind, including Maria and Elizabeth, know the secrets of this mystery. I love Alice and the Pirates as well! My favorite dress form them is probably "Sleepless Masquerade in the Twilight"!
