Hello from me and my dolls~

i am sorry to hear that your friends in life do not like you to talk about your dolls. you have a lovely collection; i like the sharp, black, Yohji-esque lines of their clothes. if you would like to post any of your non-BJD related dolls, we have an off-topic thread for just that. i hope that you enjoy meeting the folk here!

Sounds familiar. I have several friends who won't visit any longer hter who will visit, but won't turn her back on the dolls while here.

The rest of them aren't bothered by my doll obsession (or any of my other obsessions) - probably because many of them have obsessions of their own (some of which I share with them) so they understand on some level, even if they're not on exactly the same wavelength.

Your dolls look like an interesting bunch. Styled very differently from any of mine

but that's part of the attraction of this particular hobby - the customisation potential which offers endless variations.

You have a wonderful collection of dolls! They look great together.

For whatever it's worth I don't find your collection odd at all (not that odd is bad either) - in fact it feels very classic, nostalgic, old school to me. When I joined the hobby in 2010 collections with an appearance like yours were very popular. Even if you may have some doll models in there who were not available back then the lots of black clothes alternative/goth/j fashion influenced style used to be hugely popular. It was hard to find other kinds of clothes, well except for lolita type looks. of course I've oversimplified a little but you get the idea. Anime style faces and semi realistic like I see in your picture are also really classic and many people like both. Anthros have been around forever too, though only popular in some places. Your dearmine (?) guy is super cool though. I love him.

Needless to say I hope you'll feel right at home! It's cool to see a collection so warm and fuzzy nostalgic from a new member. I hope you can make whatever friends you want here.

I love seeing how others style theirs too - I encounter lots of "Love-it-but-not-right-for-me" dolls - which is great as otherwise I'd be overwhelmed with "Love-it-must-have-it" situations and be broke, even more out of space than I already am, and drive myself crazy trying to emulate somebody else's dolly-vision. This way I get to live vicariously through others' collections as well as enjoying my own.
