Hi people ^^ I don’t know if this is the correct place to post so please correct me if I‘m doing something wrong! I figured I should introduce myself here! I‘m from Germany and I‘m pretty new to this community. I have been interested in art, dolls, figures and miniatures since I was a child. I always loved customizing and photographing my model horses and other figures, in ways that made them look as realistic as possible when I was younger and I hope I can find that joy in these dolls again! I bought my first BJDs this year. A Minifee Alan that should be coming home in about a week or two (I bought him secondhand) and I preordered a Xagadoll Mini Lucas from AlicesCollections, who I plan to try my first faceup on, when he arrives ^^ I absolutely adore the Alan sculpt like no other. I didn’t think I would be able to get him this soon but I saw him for sale on facebook with two extra heads and I just had to go for it. I didn’t plan to buy a second doll that quickly without having the first one arrive but this was the perfect opportunity to get a grail xD While I‘ve been waiting for my dolls I‘ve picked up resin eye making, which is very enjoyable. (I already had most of the materials at home) I‘m really excited to see what they look like in the dolls ^^
Hello! Herzlich Willkommen! I hope you'll find many helpful informations, friends and inspiration for your doll journey here. Show off your pretty boys from time to time please. I have to admit, that I really liked Alan a lot too. I was seduced to buy him as well, when he got released. And I am mainly a girls only collector. I can completely understand, that you adore him. Have a great day! Tima^-^/
*screams in fellow Alan fan* I have six of them. Two are on order (one second hand in the mail, the other order placed but not yet shipped), two are off with my faceup artist, and two are with me where I can love on them. Two are styled female and the rest male. Three are Minifees and three Feeple60. Three are tan and three natural skin. (Yes, I do expect I'll get one in white eventually.) I'm excited to see what your eyes look like when done! I've thought about trying to make eyes, but decided ultimately there are other things I'd rather do with my time, and I find it worth the cost to buy nice pairs from other artists. That said, handmade are definitely the prettiest I've seen! Good on you for making your own!
Welcome from Canada. I have my own collection of MSD sized boys. They have all been waiting years for face ups but I have gotten into making clothing for them. Do you plan to make anything else yourself besides eyes?
Hello ^^ Thanks for the nice words! I will definitely post pictures of them when they get here :> I hope I can meet some nice people here!
Oh wow I saw your dolls already a few days ago when I was looking at what other people did with their Alains. I didn’t realize they all belonged to the same person haha. That’s so cool xD And I find the eye making process to be very relaxing after work and on the weekends sometimes ^^ But it’s definitely not for everyone haha
Hello ^^ Oh geez that’s a pretty long time for them to be faceless haha. But at least they have clothes :p Yeah I definitely plan on sewing some clothes and accessories for them! I do have a small collection of clothes that I bought already but I wanna get back into sewing a bit too
Haha, yup... I'm making myself wait on other profiles until the dolls are fully assembled, but the ones I have up are a pretty good sample of my arrived collection. Four of my Alan's were second hand finds, and the face ups and wigs take the most time usually. Although I'm also waiting on eyes, which is another reason I'm impressed you make your own!
I‘m definitely excited to see what you do with all of them! Where did you manage to find four of them second hand haha? And yeah I‘ve noticed that waiting is a really big part of this hobby xD It really trains you to be patient which probably isn’t even that bad. I can imagine it get’s you even more excited when everything arrives in the end ^^
