Hello from a non-doll-owner (yet)

Hello!

First of all: I'm pretty new to BJDs.

I've heard about them years ago, but tried to stay out of their way, because I knew about the prize range haha, but oh well, they got to me anyways in the end.

I'd say I prefer realistic dolls in a style like ringdoll often creates. Their Anubis doll? A dream, I hope I am able to achieve asap!

Den of Angels seemed like a pretty promising place to learn more about BJDs to me, especially with art theft being a non-negotiable no-go here, that's why I decided to join! I like to draw a lot and in a world where AI and money-hungry people keep stealing from artists this seemed like a place where I might be able to breathe for once as I am a bit tired of that kinda stuff.
I'd love to make some friends in the community, doesn't matter if you are a newbie like me or super experienced, as long as you are open-minded.

If you have any questions or any cool facts about dolls (even your own dolls!), feel free to ask or infodump! And if you own a ringdoll like Anubis, maybe expect a proposal from my side.

Thank you so much! And yes, research is probably the best thing about any hobby tbh haha, so it's great when there is a forum that makes it even easier! That's so impressive! I habe to look up your dolls asap, I am always so new to all the names and never know what they look like. I also hope you find a new doll to fall in love with. Sewing is such a great talent,I hope I find the courage to learn it one day properly with a machind. I only sew by hand and it just doesn't look as good, haha. I've been looking into furniture lately as well, because it does seem like a fun project to start building some or to upcycle some old doll furniture.

But I definitely meant "propose as in marriage" and less as in being ... I don't even know what to call that.

A proposal between bjds would definitely be the most interesting of all the options, though, haha!

 

If there's one thing I don't know when it comes to collecting, it's saving money, so I can relate a lot haha. It's like reading (at least if you like to read) "Just one more chapter...". Ngl I am already a bit scared of the future of my wallet.
