Hello! Finally getting the courage to be active!

    1. Hello! My name is Deno but my pals call me goat! I'm your friendly neighborhood cryptid who loves all things odd!

      - I've been into BJDs since high school but never really had the means to get into the hobby so I've always quietly admired my favorite companies from afar while lurking DoA and eventually fell out of the hobby for a few years.

      This year I took the plunge and saved up for my first Smart Doll ( I know not TECHNICALLY a BJD) and now I'm re-hooked! I plan to expand my doll family and will focus primarily on fantasy sculpts/ characters of all shapes and sizes and if possible find animal / creature BJDs (like a dragon!)

      I haven't kept up with BJDs in several years now - so I'm not even sure what's "out there" anymore lol

      What's your favorite fantasy sculpt?

    2. Bobobie/Resinsoul have got some wonderful fantasy sculpts - centaurs, dragon-people, dragon-taurs (if that's a thing LOL) really well priced too - and fantasy colours or transparent resins etc. I'm really wanting 'Dawn' one of their centaurs but sigh - money is needed! :sweat

      As far a dragons go, CrowBlackJay's She is a Dragon is always my fav. And this new Dollzone guy look pretty amazing~

    4. My favourite fantasy doll and my own most expensive purchase to date has to be Dream Valley's literal dragon. Which they called Griffin because reasons. It came in 1/6 or 1/4 size so if you wanted a dragon the size of a large cat, then this was the doll for you. Unfortunately it was a limited time run which ended earlier this year and they haven't been shipped out yet so they're unavailable on the second hand market so far, but they probably will be at some point in the future and that's if Dream Valley don't do a re-release, which they sometime do.

      My favorites fantasy dolls are fairyland centaurs. They’re beautifully sculpted. I don’t own one, but I do have a Resinsoul centaur and a dragon on the way.

      Which smart doll do you have?

    6. I have multiple buns for fantasy, dz taru, miracle doll mad rabbit, the coral reef murder buns.

      I guess "welcome" isn't apropriate since you've been a member for so long, but welcome back in any case and I hope to see you around the forums!

      My favorite fantasy sculpt is Maracreatures Ramunder, an absolutely wondeful troll doll.
      For dragons I will second what Crissaegrim said about the Dream Valley dragons. If I had more space and money I would have jumped on that one too.
      Fore a more gentle strangeness, an old favourite of mine is the Moment and Anson sculpts from Dollzone.
      Out of these, I only own Ramunder, but I'm not complaining. He is easily one of the most unique dolls I've ever owned and customizing him takes it's time. Too many big projects like that and I would be overwhelmed and run out of space in no time. And elaborate fantasy dolls tend to be expensive. :sweat

    12. Hello~ I love fantasy sculpts too. Less on the "animal" side, but I'd definitely recommend looking into Doll Chateau for cute centaurs if you like that stuff :)) And I think there was a recent dollzone dragon that looked incredible~
