You can call me 11. I'm completely new to the BJD hobby and doll collecting in general, although I had several dolls as a child which I loved very much. Learning more about BJDs feels like I'm rekindling that love! My goal is to find a doll that matches an existing character of mine, Linet - I'm in full-time lurking and research mode to find the right company, sculpt, and resin color. I want to learn how to paint my own face-ups and sew doll clothes too! I love elf-ear sculpts and smaller 1/4 or 1/6 dolls. My dream is for Maskcatdoll to one day release a dark tan resin option because their sculpts would be perfect for my Linet. I want to order one of their dolls as a new character as well, I just love their faces. Outside of this, my interests are drawing, making playlists, and medieval european history & art. I love finding out more about the material culture and mundane everyday happenings of past societies, and I think it'd be fun to combine that with the BJD hobby. Nice to meet everyone ^_^
I'm really interested to see your combined BJD/mundane history happenings! Is Linet a historical (or historical-ish) character?
Thank you, I want to make a doll in cute particoloured hose and a cotehardie and all the little belts and bags a person would carry...*daydreaming* Like what medieval historical reenactors do, but doll-sized. Linet is a historical-ish character - to begin with, he is an elf, so that kind of disqualifies him from perfect historical accuracy haha. But he is the main character of an original story inspired by late medieval England! Part of why I'm working on this story is to have a place to put what I learn in my research, it's my playground.
