Hello after many years of silence

Feb 22, 2025

    1. An introduction would be appropriate, I believe, yet I have already posted in some threads.

I've registered years ago, but I've forgotten about it for quite a long time. When I was registering I had two BJDs and they were mostly sitting on shelf. But last two years I've re-entered the community more actively. My collection grown and now I have... Ehm... 12 dolls and waiting 4 more.

Very first BJD I've met was my friend's AoD Lee Ge from 2008, I've later bought him. And first BJD that I've bought myself was Robert Carlyle minime on Resinsoul biggerboy. I was looking for an msd elf boy, I still don't understand how I've ended up with Rumple.

Now on my shelves live (except two mentioned): Dawn, Lucia and 1/4 Griffin from Dream Valley; Tarot Devil Cat, Annie and a coral girl from DZ; a small anthro-cat from local author (Akabara Doll); Souldoll Sean on Resinsoul body; Laertes from Argonautica on Ringdoll body and a tiny one from Dividing Line

And on their way - serpent and chimera from DV, Alpha Ringdoll and latest 160cm dragon fullset from DZ. I'm definitely mad about the last one and have already found a place for a whole new cupboard personally for him.

Besides BJDs I'm crafter and a little bit cosplayer, love to build full-size decorations for festivals (non-commercial, just for fun), a big fan of Doctor Who (we've built a fullsize TARDIS!). What could I say more if actually my story with BJD has started from "I'll make a Tardis for him, let's take a photoshoot" and later "Hey, can you give me Felix for a few months, I wanna try to craft on him".

On the same time with all my craft attraction most of my dolls wear random stuff and don't have proper makeup, but I'm currently fixing this injustice and makeup them, making wigs for them and all other stuff needed. Shoes making is also on the way to learn.

    2. Welcome back! I'm actually the same, I was registered and had a few BJDs years ago. I feel a lot has changed in the hobby though.

    3. Hello, welcome. That's great that your doll family has grown so much. I also think that Griffin is really cute. And, since you mentioned crafting festival decorations, have ever done work on a parade float?

    4. I can answer this: You didn't choose Rumple, he tricked you into buying him. He is Rumple, you know. (Also I would love to see pictures of him when you've got the time, I love Robert Carlyle and especially his Rumpelstiltskin. Seeing him in doll format would make my day!)

    5. I wasn't fully away from local community, but wasn't very interested in anything besides crafting stuff. And one moment I've surprisingly became not just a quiet wanderer, I can't even say when or how.

No, we don't have them here. But we have comics/games/pop culture festivals where they accept fan stands with decorations and activities!

His home name is Rumple but he's actually Nicolas Rush from Stargate:Universe. I have some photoshoots on Ao3: [BJD Cosplay] Doctor Rush - Chapter 1 - Nelissya, WTF OUaT and Cast 2021 (WTF_OUaT_Cast) - Stargate - All Media Types [Archive of Our Own]
[BJD] Project Icarus - Nelissya, WTF OUaT and Cast 2021 (WTF_OUaT_Cast) - Stargate Universe [Archive of Our Own]
