Heads for Cloth Dolls

    1. I can't believe I'm actually going to post photos, but here it goes.

      I'm happy with the face right now. It represents an African American child. I need new eyes to find faults. I would like some gentle criticism. So far, from the photos, I see that the features seem to slant towards one side of the head.

      When I am ready to move forward with this head, I will make a plaster cast of the face only and use it to make a paperclay mask. Then I'll cover it in fabric and attach it to a cloth body that I will design.

      My goal is to make a new head each week, so I'll keep posting here as I finish them.

    2. I think it looks really good right now and represents an african american child very well :)

      If i was to give you any critique it would be that the left side of the face is slightly fuller than the right (that could be the picture though) And the right side of the top lip is slightly lower than the left.

      The best thing to do would be to look at the sculpt through a mirror, then you will see things you had thought were right but need work, i do that alllll the time.

      ANyways, good luck and great work so far!

      I guess she'll eventually require ears, but the way I'm doing this, I'll probably mold them separately and apply them.
