Hi guys..well I'm at it again I've been working on this head for a few months..and have her body started..I'm trying to make her a more realistic mini..trying being the key word..lol..for the life of me I can't get a good picture of her
.I have an older one before she was sanded as smooth and newer ones took on my daughters iphone that all make her look kind of for lack of a better word ghostly?..any way the side view is older before sanding and the other is the newer picture..thanks for looking

    2. The ghostly quality is most likely just the lighting :P
Her face looks very sweet, with a good blend of realism and stylized elements. I especially love the way her browbone is shaped, it's a detail that gets 'stylized away' in quite a few sculpts.
What I do seem to notice is that her ear is placed rather high. I think it's exacerbated by the angle and lighting, but it looks as it's significantly higher than the 'standard' placement of going from mouth-to-eye height.

Good luck with working on the body! :)

    3. Thank you for looking I appreciate your thoughts on her..I told myself I wanted as much features as these old hands would muster..ummm the ears are my fault..funny story my brother had the biggest most misplaced ears when he was little me and my sister joked that he had to grow into them..of course he eventually did but when I look at young pictures of him with those big ol ears it makes me smile..so I gave her his ears lol..of course I can revamp them for a more normal placement on the open eye version I plan to do..her body is coming along..I'll post pictures one day soon..hugs and thanks again :)

    4. I love the realistic structure of her face! Nothing looks off to me except for the ears as already mentioned. I'd love to see more progress pictures!

    5. Hi Zardi..yeah I contemplated leaving her ears because I wanted a big eared look that was endearing to me because of my brother but I think it would mess with the fit of her wig..so I'll cut and sand them off to redo them shortly at present I have been working on her body..I'll update the photos once I get it closer to what I want it to look like..thank you so much :)

Hey Zardi I feel wierd posting in progress pics since I feel like they arent ready but I snapped a pic after working on her last night it just tickled me that she's coming along lol..so here is an in progress pic of sorts..thanks again

    6. I would leave everything the way it is, personally. Including the ears, with all their individuality (and big ears are easier to pierce! ;) ).

I like the "old fashioned" look it has, the chubby cheeks, the faint smile...it makes me think of 1940s composition dolls, Frozen Charlottes, and L'inconnue de la Seine.

    7. Awww thanks...I'm having fun making her..I'm slow as it is..I'm looking forward to getting her done and cast and painted just to say hey I did it..lol..I actually own an old German bjd..she has tiny little jagged teeth and my grown kids are afraid of her..I have to keep her put away when ever they visit..lol

    8. I think that she is sweet and just lovely...and I think the big ol' childlike ears are adorable! She reminds me very much of my daughter when she was little. :)

    9. I don't think you should feel weird at all. A lot of people love seeing in-progress pictures because it's fun to see how other people work :) I think she's coming along really well!

    10. Thank you for being so kind..I'm happy she has had a good response so far..cross your fingers for me it would be nice to get her done before Christmas :)

Thanks Zardi I appreciate the encouragement..lol..I started sculpting to improve my hand coordination I had a spinal blockage that left me in a wheelchair for half a year and my hand dexterity went poof..I've sculpted a few things in the last year and a half and its helped a lot..my avatar was one of my attempts..she was supposed to look anime-ish..I had a heck of a time casting her..but I love her for all of her flaws..I have a different approach this time and it's going a lot better..instead of trying to force a certain type of look I just went with the flow and went with what I felt looked right..eeekkk..sorry about the long rant..hugs..thanks again
