hello! i'm sculpting a 14~16 cm doll for my art class right now, i cant really tell the height because shes unstrung, and i'm still working on so many pieces its hectic :pout uhm anyways, i still haven't tackled the arm joint but i know its going to be the general peanut shape that i'm familiar with. however, i don't really understand how the double knee joint works or how to sculpt it!!:dead:dead:dead i'm freaking out because she is due on march 13 and i still have rough parts, and an arm broke on me yesterday so i spent today making a replacement, only to figure out that i haven't fully refined the other arm so what i'm doing is pointless because i don't know if the arm will work. pls help i'm dying, i still need to make her wefts for her wig, a costume and a face up i'm in the middle of exam week my soul is already escaping my body send help.
this tutorial really has helped me, and i plan on using it for the doll i'm about to start making... http://scargeear.deviantart.com/art/Make-fitting-joints-for-a-doll-tutorial-295228535 really, all of scargeear's tutorials are fantastic. http://scargeear.deviantart.com/gallery/33400868/Tutorials and nothing you're doing is pointless! even if something fails, it's just more experience, and learning. XD
I'd also suggest Twigling's "Zen and the Art of Articulating Dolls by Using Balljoints"! I found it to be **incredibly** helpful with figuring out how different kinds of jointing work. Her site is under construction right now, but you can still find the PDF on scribd.
