Wait Times Has anyone had problems with e-bay dealer Dollfie's Fashion Island

Mar 20, 2009

    1. I am getting an AOD Wang Zi as a gift. My father surprised me, with the name of the doll I said, he found on e-bay. The store is Dollfie Fashion Island. I wrote to them about a face up after I found out, and they seemed nice. I'm just worried is it a good site? What are the wait times like? The order was put in as a surprise, but I'm worried, even though they had a good e-bay rating. :?
I tried to search but it came with zero.

I'm updating this thread to say Dollfie Fashion Island is a really good seller. I had a much better experience with April then Denver Doll Emporium. Because of this I wanted to correct my initial misgivings.

    2. There is another thread on this section about this seller (wyr1234567). Not to worry about whether they are legit or not, they certainly are authorised dealers for Angel of Dream, and AoD do confirm this. I do not know anything about waiting or shipping times from them, when looking at a doll from them I did not buy it, but that was because they could not go through with the free head event for 1/6 dolls due to shipping price restrictions/

    3. Yeah, I could not get the free head either. I was more than a little upset. Thank you I should have search the name. I don't know why but did not think of it. You have taken a load off my mind.

    4. AAHHH! I should not have not read that thread on wyr1234567. I guess it is to late now. I can only hope for the best. At least she is authorized. I will post my experience and wait time so other people have something to go on!

    5. I ordered a doll on febuary 26th from this dealer's ebay shop. I am still waiting now a month later. I ordered an AOD tiny mimi normal pink skin with no face up. I contacted the seller a few times asking where it was at and they told me that it would take 30 days from the company (Isn't it against ebay policy to sell items you do not have in hand?) and said they do not always receive their ebay messages and direct email is best for communication. I emailed her again today as it has now been about 28 days and she sent me an email back that said that my doll should be ready next week but that the factory is slow. and something about not wanting to rush the face up... which is awfully weird because I did not pay for nor request a face up. The listing had 100% paypal buyer protection and I used paypal. I'm beginning to wonder if I should file a claim... however, I have another week or two to safely file a claim so I shall wait and see what happens. However her lack of communication in the beginning, the negative thread which is locked and supposedly all a misunderstanding, and the fact that after 28 days she has no tracking information and is either confused or lieing or possibly throwing in a free faceup... all add to make me very uncomfortable. Would not recommend using this dealer.

ETA: and now she sends me a bill for faceup which I did not request or order.... unbelievable.

I sent a reply back because it's not fair for me to have to pay for something that I did not request! It's only 20 dollars but I recently moved out of my parents' house into my own apartment, Money is tight and I really don't think she has any right to send me a bill for additional money outside of ebay for something which was never requested or even mentioned or discussed... really am at my wit's end with this seller.

I was trying to be polite and I said "I do not think I paid for a faceup"

She sends me an email within 20 minutes, charging me for the faceup and saying "don't worry I ussually charge for faceup when the doll ships so you can pay whenever"

      Well that's fine except I never requested said faceup -.-;

20 dollars could buy a dress or a wig or something for the doll... and some people actually like doing their own faceups.

      ETA2:

Well it seems it was just confusion on both our parts and she says that my doll will ship out next week without faceup.

      -----

Honestly... her biggest problem seems to be that english is not her first language. Which is fine when dealing in a primarily asian hobby... I'm just extremely nervous with large money transactions >.< And when there is such a lack of communication, or in this case alot of miscommunications, it really adds to my worries....

      -----------

But back on topic. It seems the wait time is around 30-40 days.

    6. I reciently purchased a AOD 1/4 body two days ago. I was told it will take up to 3 weeks since the normal skin was out of stock.

    7. Please tell me when you get the doll because I'm alittle scared. She has been super nice to me, but I have not talk to my father in a long time. That is why he bought the doll and the last thing I need is if the seller doesn't work out. For you question about the seller having the merchandise first in ebay, I don't think so. They have presales of other dolls like Pullip all the time. It is pretty much the same thing.

-Alright I wrote her and decided on posting my experience here. That way in the future people can have a guide to judge shipping ect.

    8. Presales of up to thirty days are legal on ebay, any more than that and that is where things get tricky
30 days is average for the manufacture of any doll company, even if bought directly from AoD's site, it would take that long to produce

    9. My latest dealing with wyr1234567 has been wonderful. My father did the whole paypal thing wrong somehow and they took back the money. She was great about it. This could have been really bad and she was very understanding. I added my father's card to my paypal temporally and was able to pay. She was cool about the incident. I will post when I get the doll to tell wait times and about the face-up.

    10. I hope this works out well for you :) Buying dolls off eBay can be a bit of a minefield!

    11. Just wanted to update that my girl from dollfie fashion island shipped yesterday. I was getting nervous as you only have 45 days to do a paypal claim and I was on day 38 so opened one up but will close it once my girl arrives.

Overall not bad, communication could have been better, but I think it was more of a natural language barrier than anything intentional.

    12. I just ordered a doll from her on the 31st of march (tail end of the free head event) she was super nice, the wig and extra eyes that i ordered arrived just a few days later. She said the wait is usually 4 weeks at the most but normally closer to 2 or 3 weeks

    13. I put out a WTB feeler for a DZ Megi, and she responded within a day that she had one to sell me. I'm really nervous to buy from her, since she's only had 4 verified Paypal sales since 2005. She said she had him, and would ship the next day. The fact that she doesn't have a feedback thread and has just recently joined DOA has made me nervous.

Has anyone actually received a doll from her yet?

    14. Here we go again
This thread already made and is done--over with--end of story. Please use "Search" to find it. She's safe as Heaven.

      ~Junko

P.S: Its a She by the way, her name is April.

    15. It's OK. Once I saw that she had an ebay store and had 100% feedback, I feel better about it. I did do a search and this was the thread that came up. She gave me a super deal on a Megi doll that she owns that is less than a year old. Hopefully he'll be as flawless as she says. Then I'll be one happy camper!:)

    16. well..i am back again....umm....I just want to say that i don't agree with what you said.

1st, I DON'T HAVE A COMMUNICATION PROBLEM. it's true that i am not a native speaker but i have been here for 15 years. sometime i get too many e-mails and i just don't have time to check the spelling and grammar 4 everything i send out.

second, doesn't matter if you order from me or from the AOD Website, the dolls are send out from the same factory with SAME SENDER'S ADDRESS, which is the AOD factory (except the instock dolls are from California), so there is no way i can delay your order, because i don't make them, the only reason your doll is later is because the factory is busy.

third, everyone makes mistakes once a while, even AOD official web, so if the skin color or face up is wrong, talk to me before you leave a negative feedback, i can always give you an exchange or something free for compensation.

forth, i work at home, so i always reply to buyer's-emails very quickly. i can't think of any reason why i wont' reply an e-mail (except that i didn't get them) so e-mail agian if i didn't reply i must have missed it.

last, my family is in southern-california, and i even allow buyer for local pick up, my address is paypal varified, so is very safe~

i just want to say, i am just like any of you guys, i have my own dollfies i need to take care, i like them so much that's why i decided to provide this retail service. i know how anxious you get when you are waiting for your doll. i am trying my best, so please don't give me such hard time~

    17. She really is truly wonderful. I got my sweet Anne from her and she was really great. Anne is an Abio Angel and shipped directly to me from Jinan, China. April sent in the mail the free fur wig she was offering with the doll purchase. She really cared about my doll, and when Anne arrived I sent her pictures. I would definitely buy from her again, she is truly wonderful.

      ~AK

    18. I have had more luck with Dollfie Fashion Island then DDE. She is quick to respond and my order has had some major kinks. They were on my end. I plan to order a second doll with her in two weeks. I had some major problems with DDE and hope people are not so fast to judge because she is on ebay. I mean many of us are on ebay. I think she gets us a good bargain.

I hope my thread has not caused her store harm.

    19. I am waiting on my 2nd doll from DFI. The Abio Angel Liu should be here in the next couple days. Again a smooth transaction. I will write one last time on condition of the doll. So far the doll was in stock and was sent out quickly. I got a great deal since she was a display doll. She just cleared customs so hope hope she will be here in the next couple days.

She arrived in perfect condition. It was a fast since she was in stock. From the Friday I place the order till delivery was 9 or 10 days. I would use her again.

    20. This is to notify any buyers of Angell-Studio dolls from this dealer either on ebay or through DOA to be extremely cautious before entering a dealing with her. She is not a direct authorized seller as far as Angell-Studio is concerned. I have been in extensive contact with them and found this out long after my order was placed. The only thing to this seller's credit is that she seems to have great feedback for items that are in her possession when they are listed. And on ebay I am guessing it's because too much time passes on bad transactions to leave any feedback, like what happened with me.

From the time I made my order and immediate payment on May 18, and after 9 weeks of vague responses and telling me that she had no idea of the status of my doll order (after promising me on week 3 that it would be ready to ship), I had to seek a refund. I had ordered an Angell-Studio Lucifer fullset, and within the 3rd week I was assured that it was going to ship however, the weeks had gone on and though I checked in with her weekly she suddenly had no idea where the doll was, or when it was coming. She blamed the factory for alot of orders, that she didn't want to rush the faceup, and so on. I had no other choice but to see what AS could provide me with information wise. Lily, the customer service rep went above and beyond helping me find out what orders went out, and we were able to accomplish this from another member in the Angell-Studio waiting room.

DFI/wyr became extremely suspicious in asking me how I knew of the shipping detail of her overseas shipper, and I explained to her that I sent the photo of another customer's shipping lable she provided me (which is all on the Angell-Studio thread) with because DFI/wry could never, or would never give me information on my order status, now I know why. From ebay messaging.

      -------------------
      Dear egeriafellows,

      hi
I am sure your doll is placed. I checked it the first time you asked me. it's just really slow some how, maybe because this month they get too many orders and whole set sometime takes longer. thank you

      - wyr1234567

      -------
      Dear egeriafellows,

hi, please explain, why would someone else's order be yours? i dont' understand. thank you

      - wyr1234567

      ----------

      Dear wyr1234567,

Well, someone on DOA who ordered through you a Gus and Liera blank doll just got their order in today and that was the name of where it shipped from. So I asked Lily to see if my order was placed from the same person, to see if anyone could help me find my order. You have not given me any information at all, and I am hoping that you might help. I do not know that this is my order, I was hoping you would. Do you? Lily is very helpful, you need only ask her. That's all I would like right now. Please help me?

      - egeriafellows

      --------

      Dear egeriafellows,

      hi,
as you know i am selling their doll at a lower price then the official web, so contacting AS will only get me in trouble. if you can't wait I would rather refund you, is that ok? thank you

      - wyr1234567

      Dear egeriafellows,

      hi,
i will get in trouble because i am selling at a lower price. and people in the factory who sold to me will get in touble too. actually your doll was damaged during shipping,it needs to arrive at a mid point first, we check the items before we ship to you. we found a damage on the doll so we send it back for a replacement. but if you tell that to AS, they will know exact which doll it is and who sold it. that we would get in trouble, that's why i don't know when the replacement will come, if you keep contact AS custome service, they will probably hold on to the doll.

      thank you

      - wyr1234567
      -------

Sad thing about it is, according to Lily of AS only one Lucifer fullset was ordered by the address lable I provided to her, on June 9th, which might be the time that mine broke. However, there were no other orders placed from the information she had, and I understand why during later weeks wyr was pushing a refund.

All messages between seller and myself have been saved should the moderators or any other care to review them before any action is taken but I think something needs to be done about this. If the entire communication log from ebay needs to be sent or posted I will do that as well including both my questions and statements as well as the seller's. *I did get a full refund, and for that I am thankful of*. But this nonsense needs to stop with this seller being untruthful and unfair in her dealings both to the customers as well as the factory. For weeks she communicated to me that she had no idea about the status of my order when she knew all along that it was broken, and only after her acquisition and shipping method was found out was she forthcoming with information and ONLY because she feared repercussion.

I will be paying a little more now, and waiting alot longer for my doll - but I am going through the proper channels to do so, and I would advise any others seeking to purchase from this dealer to do the same. The peace of mind that comes from dealing with kind, knowledgable, and truthful dealers is worth every extra penny. I think it's very easy for someone to become complacent with one or two orders and rest on their past laurels when they feel they earned enough 'brownie points' and positive feedback to slack a little. I just hope no one else becomes that one or two exceptions to what seems to be the norm for this seller. That is why this is being written.

This by no means is to say that she is not an authorized dealer of other bjd companies, because I do not have any information one way or another on this, but she most certainly is not authorized by Angell-Studio and now I know why.

As the saying goes, caveat emptor, let the buyer beware. In the end, don't let my mistake become your next migraine.

    21. I had a similar experience with this seller, albeit ona much smaller scale. I purchased a pair of high heel feet that took over 2 months to ship. They only shipped after I was told, multiple times there was a backlog in production. When I finally demanded a refund, I was told *gasp* that the feet had arrived to them that very day BUT were the wrong color and had to be sent back. I finally did receive them after more than 8 weeks of waiting, and wish I'd saved the shipping label so I could compare it to the AS buyers with problems.

There seems to be something shady going on with them, as they are selling for under the company's set prices and were initially not an authorized AoD dealer who suddenly gained legitimate cred.

Isola, when you were talking to Lily, did she mention whether they were even authorized to be selling AS products?

    22. This worries me since I just bought an AoD Zi-yuan from her. I think if you find enough people who have had bad dealings, you should appeal to Ebay. This sort of thing really has to be stopped, and it's nice to have a forum where we can go to get support and advice when dealing with sellers.

    23. Lily told me that AS did not have any authorized ebay sellers, and wyr/DFI was not one of them in any capacity. She appears to be getting them from a friend of a friend that is able to get an internal discount. That's why they arrive at a 'midpoint' to be checked.

    24. I just ordered an AOD female body from her. I did get it after a month. But the seller had no idea it had even shipped. I would probably order again for aod stuff.

    25. Yes, I saw the posting thread about the whole AOD issue and that she is now an authorized seller. I don't doubt that, and can only speak to what I know about the company that she placed my former order at. I learned that it certainly pays to contact the company directly with that information. Like I did with Lily, if anyone else has any questions for her regarding Angell-Studio dealers or information she can be reached at: [email protected]

    26. I would also like to add upon this.

Now I am not slamming her, I'm just saying I had a rough two months with her.

(I'm gonna try to make a long story shot, but here is the jist.)

I had posted a WTB thread on the marketplace mini dolls section for an Angell-Studio Gus and Leria.

DFI had contacted me right away and even gave me photos of the dolls she owned. I agreed upon wanting to buy them because it was a great deal. (I also did some research on her before I said yes.) After I paid she said that they are being shipped from China... This made me go "huh?" but I ignored it.

I took my chance and went through with it. After a week the dolls shipped out to me. It took another week and then the package arrived.

It was a large box and I kinda paused a moment, but went to the box opening!

And as I opened the box it seemd that my dolls had merged into one big AS SD Gabriel. I paused and was in shock a moment and just dropped everything and messaged her right away, explaining that the doll was not what I ordered.

DFI said that my box was switched with another order that was also shipped out through an ebay buyer. This made me very angry. If only two boxes were shipped that day, it shouldn't have been that BIG of a mistake. She said she would contact the other buyer to sort out the situation. After long weeks... I think one and a half, she finally gave up and said the other buyer wasn't saying anything and left her positive feedback.

So after this she offered me a refund, or she offered to buy two news dolls from the company instead. Only catch is my wait time. I didn't mind this and took this offer, because all I wanted was the right thing. So I ordered them blank, and no extras.

She said my wait time would be about 4-5 weeks.

A long 7 weeks had passed, and she contacted me saying that the dolls were ready and that she needed my address. I gave it to her again, ASSUMING the dolls were at her own home. But it wasn't. I found this out after another week went by and I contacted her asking for some form of shipping number.

She gave it to me right away and as I check it, the dolls were coming from the company and had left the sorting center.

Finally, just yesterday, my dolls had arrived.

So from May 3 all the way to July 14.

I will be sending the other doll back to her later this week and I am just cautioning buyers.

It seems though, that from her personal FS threads, transactions go by smoothly. But from ebay and other things, it does not.

If anyone else has any questions I have saved all of my PM's and would be more than happy to help.

    27. I just want to add a bit more.

I order a pair of high heel feet from this seller. After I paid, I ask them when will the feet to be shipped.
They told me only the white skin feet is in stock and will take "2 weeks" to get to my door. (Who knows why take so long since they are in US?)
And for other colors, it will take up to 4~6 weeks...

Yesterday I asked them if I could have refund on the feet since it will take that long, and they answered my question the same day telling me my order has been shipped....

Oh. I also want to add, I paid $4.99 for UPS Ground (they said it on their ebay page) and I got an email from paypal saying my package will be shipped by "USPS Parcel Post"

I haven't get my order yet, but I will update this as soon as I got it.

    28. Just want to add that I received my high heel feet today.
The feet were in a plastic bag and wrap with bubble paper.
They ship them in a small envelope and with couple layers of bubble paper, no damage was found to the feet.

    29. I have no idea at the first time but I was looking for SD girl Abio Angel Shisan , the seller mentioned that almost of AA doll have stock. I decided to bought Shisan with faceup and I get Shisan 2 1/2 weeks later. She came safety (I have posted in the box opening section ,even the faceup didn't look like their shown in the promo picture because seller said the face up will be same the picture. But the faceup doesn't look bad, just disappointed that they didn't attached eyelash This is my first BJD doll "Yoko"
