I really want to dye a doll a very light/pale pink, (like actual pink, not NPS) and I'm curious if anyone has any recipes that have worked for them and photos they could share! My main colour will be Rit Dyemore super pink, but I'm debating adding a bit of daffodil yellow as well, but I don't want it to turn too peachy and NPS-like. I've looked at Rit's colour formulas, but they all look a little too muted for what I'm going for.
Do you have pictures of what you're going for? Super pink is a cool toned pink, so if you want a warmer pale pink, you might have better luck adding a touch of red or apricot. How intense it is will depend on how large your dye bath is and how long you leave the pieces in for.
Here's a pantone swatch that I quite like! I just don't want to add too much yellow/orange and have the colour look more NPS. I definitely want it to look like a true pink, so I might try super pink just reallyyyy diluted and only leave the pieces in for short bursts of time! And maybe add the tiniest bit of yellow or orange
What is the resin colour you're planning to dye? I assume white, but if it's more of a creamy colour (not paper white) then that might already be enough yellow in a very diluted dye bath.
personally, I would use a purple-ish pink if your doll is ns or yellow as that will cancel out the yellow and hopefully give it a better 'true' pink. I might skip out on the yellow or orange at first and try just the pure pink on an inconspicuous part, and add in yellow/orange after as needed.
Oh I totally forgot to include that! It would be Dream Valley WS which is almost paper white. At least the body will be, I don’t have a head yet. That’ll be another challenge if the head’s resin is different, trying to make the body and head look the same with the pink
If you don't have the head yet, you might want to wait to dye the body so you can use the same dye bath on both, or make sure to take really good notes on what you did for the body!
