Haru Casting Mini Dolls

My Maji is so close but so faaaar. Dx She went through Seattle this morning, but I imagine she won’t arrive in town until this afternoon and therefore won’t be delivered until tomorrow. Got a long shift at work tomorrow so I’ll end up having to wait until I get home to see her.

 

Guys my Maji just arrived!!! So excited!! Hopefully those waiting will get her soon as well

 

Luckyyyy! My Maji is at the post office right now. She arrived too late to make it into today’s deliveries. So I have to wait until after work tomorrow to see her.

 

I am amazed at how quickly she got here!! Thank you Haru!

 

I thought I had photo included but it’s not showing up. I took on my phone but DOA asks for url..what is cell url? Anyways anyone know how to put photos on DOA?

 

@Kathe If you haven't already you'll first need to upload the photo to a photo sharing/hosting site. Flickr, imgur, etc. Then the site will create a url link for you, and you can paste that to DoA.

 

You have to upload your photo to a site like Flickr. Once you’ve uploaded it, go to the specific picture you want to post, click on the icon that is an arrow pointing down toward a line. In the size options, choose Medium and then it should take you to the image URL. Copy the URL (make sure it ends up an image file format like .png or .jpg/.jpeg) and then paste it into the text box that pops up when you go to add an image to your post.

Please excuse the horrible photos, but I'm in the middle of packing up my apartment. There's a few more photos on my Flickr account.

SHE'S ADORABLE! And her hips are ridiculous! Even my boyfriend (definitely not a doll person) noticed the extra oomph in her sculpt. Unfortunately I have to put her away until we finish moving, but I can't wait to see everyone else's. So far I've loved her posing except for her right leg. I think the problem is partly the silicone pad in the hip socket, and partly that she's strung so tightly. Her engineering is wonderful, but I'll probably need to play with her more to get the hang of it. The resin is really lovely - no color marbling or discolorations, and it has a very nice tooth to it. She's surprisingly lightweight, but that may be because I'm used to SDs. The packaging is cute, original, and streamlined but still protective (something I appreciate as a person with limited storage.) Plus, y'know, a bag of snacks. A++ would definitely order from Haru again.

 

If you dont mind me asking, which skin tone is that? Shes gorgeous. Wish mine was in the 1st batch

 

She's mild tan. She's a bit darker IRL but I didn't feel like doing any photo editing. And June is pretty close already! Just think of it as more time to find clothes that will fit her Hulk thighs.

Finally got a chance to dress up my Maji....I did manage to find something for her to wear but she does not have a proper wig and she is currently without eyes Anyway If you guys want to take a look I posted a pic on my instagram....the picture is not too great but with my phone it was the best I could do.

Can you tell me how many hands she has?

 

She has two pairs...the open hands that are on her and an extra pair of closed hands

The closed hands are super cute, plus Haru also included a set of hand/foot blanks to make dressing her easier.

I just got her in today. She's very beautiful. I got mine in the light tan color. Love the packaging and love the little treats as well. I am so happy with this, a great long wait.

 

I saw that on his ins. It's So cool.

 

Got my girl today too. Had a spare short wig I thought she'd wear till my Frappzilla came in but she prefers a messy style so she's wearing this temporary one for now. Also, not sure about her eyes yet. Thinking of a pair of Makos but not sure about color yet. Anyway, here she is. She fits the jeans I made for my Ziya!

What do you mean by a set of blanks included? I don’t think I got ‘blanks. And her hands are strung so tightly I doubt I could get them off

 

I'm having the same issue with the tightness of her right leg and there isn't much elastic left to loosen it.

 

I'd like to know this too! I've never heard of blanks.

 

I believe if I'm not mistaken, blanks are the 2nd set of hands.

 

I think it might be the tool that he showed in one of his posts. I received a pair....but to tell you the truth not sure how they work

Those are the ones! They have a channel in the rounded end that the s-hooks can hook onto. So instead of changing from one set of hands to the other, you hook onto these for ease of dressing in tighter clothing. They work on both the feet and hands. It takes some hand strength to change them now, but will be in an easier once her elastic loosens up.

I plan to email Haru when I have a moment and ask about the posing issues and see if he has any suggestions.

 

According to haru, he states that the tool/mechanism rather is for whenever she wears any narrow-legged pants or top with narrow sleeves, it can be used. So basically in the picture on the flickr account, he shows the hand being taken off and the tool being put on. Never saw anything like this, and it's a smart idea to say the least.

That hand blank tool is quite clever! Some people use buttons for the same reason: they hook the S-hook to the button when taking of the hands so they can put tighter clothes on dolls.
It makes everything little bit easier and no need to worry about breaking the fingers when putting on clothes ^^;

 

Picked my Maji up from the post office today after work and aaahhhh she’s so dang nice looking! Really love that Haru included the hand blanks. I know at some point Luts had something similar that I was super tempted to order, but never got around to. Definitely gonna get a lot of use out of them (and not even just with my Maji).

As much as I love her though, she is super finicky to handle. Dx Her stringing was stretched out to its max, which is a no-no with stringing, imo. It just makes the doll extra kicky. x_x Hoping I have elastic that’ll fit in her still. I’ve used up a lot of what I usually string my minis with in some other dolls, so I might have to wait until I buy some more. = 3=

 

Dollshe has a similar mechanism called paddle hands.

 

I noticed that she was thightly strung as well and specifically one of her legs was really kicky..doesn’t the string become a little looser with time? This is my second doll and i’ve never restrung one...not sure if I’m comfortable yet

 

Are all the dolls in the first batch blank? Just checking. Mine has a faceup, and Haru told me it would be shipped this month!!

I received my Maji (Nanni Choco skin) yesterday, too! She's beautiful. I also have the issue with the tightness in the right leg. I'm a little afraid to attempt restringing her just yet.

You’ll be waiting a long time for the elastic to loosen. The string in my Maji was pulled just about as tight as it could go, so the elastic was trying to do what elastic does—snap back to its default form, which means you end up with a very kicky doll as all the tension in the elastic is harshly trying to pull back. There’s a decently bold line between “taut” and “stretched within an inch of its life”.

Anyway, restringing isn’t as scary as it seems, and it’s something you’re going to have to learn to do yourself whether you like it or not. Best to learn in a controlled situation than if you accidentally lose hold of the elastic and it goes shooting into the doll and their arm falls off.

Though I do plan to take my girl apart again to suede her. I can see about recording and explaining the process for how to restring Maji in particular and post it on YouTube. P:

I just spoke with Haru on Instagram and he apologized for the right knee issue. He wanted me to mske sure to post this around for those of us who are having a problem with her legs being kicky or tight. He says restringing will not help and you will have the same problem even with restringing. The issue is that there needs to be another channel drilled in the hip. He says he will fix that problem for the second batch and if you want a replacement thigh part to email him and he will pay the Ems fee. He says the color may be a little different and you will have to wait until after the second batch has shipped. It seems to be that the string crosses over the other and causes the kicky leg issue. I did see in mine behind her knee it was crossed and once I adjusted that the parts seemed to settle. The tension just has to be adjusted but because of that channel in the hip we may have to repeatedly adjust the strings.

 

Yup, just got an email with the same info and a photo explanation. She does stand a lot better after I tried pulling her leg (lol) out and adjusting.

Her eyes are too big for my liking so I'll need to get some better ones but I love her! I just wish the clicky knee wasn't an issue. Also, please excuse my photography "skills", hahaha.

 

Do you happen to have that information on hand? For fixing the joints I mean?

Therefore, plz pull the right leg and insert the joint again. And then, the right leg will be reset to be stayed straight. Of course, it will be not easy to pull the leg and insert the joint every time.

If you want to change new right thigh drill the channel correctly, I will do what u want. But the colour might be a little different and I will be able to send u after the 2nd shipment (June) that I will have to make new mould of only thigh. Hope you understand my work for such a doll very curved, engineering and the balance on the curved doll.

At last, plz check the photo attached.
Current, your Maji has the string in yellow.
So, some part of the string is a little stuck on the knee joint. Pulling the whole leg and insert again will make its string direction changed from the yellow to blue.

Mine has a face-up!! I received her this Monday. The picture I posted on Instagram is not too good and since her eyes are not here yet I don't want to post a close up but once they arrive I will post a picture

 

If you do make a youtube video It would be awesome! I have been looking into restringing, and I know there are a lot of videos out there, but if it can be with a Maji much better

 

@whitebread I bought them from Alice’s Collections! They’re one of the pieces made by Endless (so the clothes where the item number starts with ED on AC’s site). Specifically, these are the EDPG011 shorts. I also have a pair of EDPG009 shorts that fit her as well. I’ve found that a chunk of my pants/shorts made more for standard/child-like MSDs fit over her thighs and bum best (pant legs may be a bit loose from the knee down though).

@YayalovesMilo I’ll definitely make a video! Just need to find the time to record and then edit.

 

I've been talking to Haru about this and has asked me to post a video of how to fix the problem. But obviously you can't post videos on den of angels. If you have Instagram I can send it to you or simply look on my Instagram which is samson_62.
