Haru Casting Mini Dolls

I caved. I caved like an avalanche. I sent an email for Maji, in the Nanni Choco tan color.

She's going to be expensive, but I'm hoping I get my taxes back to pay the other half of her layaway.

 

Bahaha congrats on caving. I put in my order earlier this month after much agonizing. Getting mine in medium tan. I’m also hoping to pay off my layaway with my tax refund. xD Just waiting on my dang tax papers to come in or because available online so I can get started. P;

 

I really wish I had the money to get her. She' such a beautiful sculpt. Maybe if I live on ramen..

 

She's so incredibly lovely! Anyone know if this is a one-off, or if she'll be available again in the future?

 

I've been following her progress on his instagram but I just can't afford another doll right now I absolutely adore her face and body shape. Her legs are gorgeous!

 

This is, most likely, not an on off. Pre-orders for Maji's younger siblings were numerous. Moreover Haru has one more 1/4 doll face sculpt in process, which he had posted on the Instagram a while ago.

 

Haru said that he's planning to do another pre-order in the fall, plus the aforementioned new head. He seems very proud of her, so I imagine that she'll be available for a while.

 

Ok, just to double check with everyone, did you all send money after sending the email, or did he get in contact with you first? I'm trying to do a layaway, and I want to make sure I do everything right.

After I sent my first email, he sent an reply with the total including shipping, and then I sent the money.

 

If he sells her again next fall I might just have to get one for myself.
She's really lovely, I adore her face and her hips/legs are so pretty.

 

Okay, thank you for letting me know. Now I just have to calm down and be patient. Easier said than done!

 

I'm doing layaway and he quoted me the price + shipping, and asked me to send him half. The rest is due before shipping, and I expect to get a second email then.

 

Have to wait so long to receive her... I mean I've waited longer before but never been this hyped about a doll before LOL

Anybody got any specific plans for her? I posted up a plan on my IG and I'm making a strawberry blonde Arianna Grande styled alpaca wig, so a really big high pony The clothes in the plan have changed for budget reasons but I am so excited. She'll be my first tan doll!​

 

I'm actually having a hard time planning for her, I may need to wait until she arrives, unless inspiration strikes before then! Haru has her styled in so many different ways that show how versatile she is. I'd be interested to see everyone else's plans for her too~

 

My plan is to turn her into one of my RPCs, Amaya Yu—she’s one of the younger siblings to one of the other characters I have that I’ve already made into a doll. I got a pretty decent idea for her wig and eye color, but I’m still mulling over her style. xD;

I'm working on a story with Enchanted - our girls will be twins separated at birth who meet up in a private High School. I'm planning on a short dark wig but we shall see once she gets here. Dolls have a way of changing plans LOL

 

I have put in my order, but the process hasn't been smooth, so I need some reassurance if you don't mind. I am fairly new to this world, so lurked for a long time and did a ton of research... determined that every doll I purchased, would be methodically researched and be on my "grail list". I have been working through that list as budget allows (2 so far) but Maji threw a spanner into the works, because she was just adorable, seemed to pose really really well and basically demanded to be put at the top of the list and purchased (and who doesn't like a doll with thunder thights!!!)! I sent off my order but didn't hear anything until a week later. I responded, asked to adjust my order a bit (got confused with those colours and switching back and forth between flickr, instagram and the website). They sent me a bill but asked that I pay as friend on Paypal? Totally not comfortable violating terms of service or being unprotected, so sent back a request that they determine what extra fees they wanted me to pay, but I heard nothing back. In the meantime, it's the last day, so I paid full in front and figured they could bill me. In the conversion process of funds, I realized that they had misquoted me on the invoice. It was supposed to be 455 + 40 EMS Shipping but they said that = 560, which it doesn't. I've now sent 570 (US funds. I'm in Canada, so that's nearly 800 dollars), but they want 582.60 (with paypal fees). Seriously stressing out. Is this the way it works in the dollmaking world? Anyone bought from them before?

 

Deireth - so your total should have been $495 but you sent $570? If so, I would email him explaining that you overpaid. I am sure he will refund the difference but in the meantime, you can send a request for money to him via paypal with the difference already indicated. This will make it easier for him.
He is a one person business casting dolls for a LOT for people so he does get busy and may not respond right away. I know you are stressed but try to relax a bit, he's never been reported for fraud or had anyone say anything bad that I've run across. Just give him a week to respond. If he doesn't, try to contact him via IG.

 

I will admit I got confused with the conversion from Canadian to US funds, so that's probably my fault for not paying better attention (I have a tbi from an accident and lost numbers a few years ago. Really, you want to be behind me in a bank machine line up.. I'm worth free cash to follow ). I will try not to worry about it.

 

I'm also a newbie and to be honest I didn't think twice about the friends and family option, I'm used to paying that because of buying overseas products from fanclubs etc. In the future I would rather pay the fees too but from what I've heard, he's done his other pre-orders that way and nobody had a problem.

Deireth, did you order a faceup? My fees came to (in USD) 455 for the doll + 42 EMS shipping + 80 for the faceup = 577, so I wonder if Haru was just doing a lot of calculations for the preorder and made a mistake with confusion over faceups, colors, etc?

 

I ordered her in the dark tan. I usually don't have msd's so this will be something to adjust to. I have only a few items in that size and will have to work hard when crafting for the smaller size. I don't have a character set yet.

 

I stumbled across Maji and am in love.. though I think I'm to late to order? I read that it was the 31st of Jan somewhere but am not sure how correct this is. Can someone please tell me the cut off date for the order? Thank you!!

 

I really want Maji but no way will I pay ff. Too dangerous.

 

I know a lot of people are worried about the FF way of payment, but personally, I do get it. Paying for the fee which can be a big chunk of your money really sucks. He's a trust-able seller too, and I know a friend who has one of his dolls so I'm not quite worried about legitimacy.

I hope you worked things out! I'm Canadian too and I know how stressful that can be. Also don't be afraid to ask him to mark down the price when he sends the doll to avoid custom fees. Best of luck ​

 

I spent the whole month thinking about Maji and wether or not to order her now. I was thinking I can order her in the next order period if I'm still interested.. But I ended up placing the order this Tuesday! I'm very excited, can't wait to see what she is like! Here comes the wait now~

 

Does anyone who has ordered from Haru know how the faceup works? Does he send all the heads in a batch to Greenwolfy? He said something about communicating directly with faceup artist on what we want (though the faceups are so cute I wouldn’t change anything).

 

In the email he told me, i need to contact the artist if i want something special. On his page you can choose I think from 2 different styles. I go contact her myself, because I want a mix from the 2
He said its important to tell the artist your name because the name on the head he put on when sending.

I paid for the fees myself.. It was not a problem. Not that I don't trust him, because I only hear good things about him. But what if my package got lost ?? It's not $25,- that would go lost. So That's why I paid my own fees. It was something like $25 more on the total. I did had a face up and the $520 tan special medium. So more then basic price. I think it would be less if your order is the basic one.

 

Was there an estimated ship time?

 

In the info he said end of March or second shipment April. That was in the info before ordering.

I think he's caught up on his backlog because I got a massively apologetic email and a promise of a refund for the difference overpaid. I too paid the pay pal fees. I suppose it comes down to personal choice because either way contravenes the terms of service. Just by paying them, I feel more protected if something goes wrong and I like that level of peace of mind!

 

I got her in 'normal maji' but I also ordered an Adori in Nanni Creamy Tan
I love dolly stories too!

 

Maji is such a cutie. I look forward to seeing owner pics.

BTW Did I imagine this or did Haru mention making a Maji smiling face in the future? If he does, I'd be very tempted. Would love to get a big sister for my Geuru.

 

I didn't see anything from him about a smiling face - I just saw someone saying they'd like one. But I could be mistaken.
Anyone else doing layaway? I'm wondering if I should send my second payment or if he'll notify us when he wants it... maybe I'll just ask him :P

I am so excited to get this gal. I sold all but one of my MNF bodies, realized I wanted more diversity this past year, but I'm glad she's the same size. I have so much clothing and patterns! And there are tons of MNF sized shoes out there now. They were so limited years ago. And now I'm yammering

Has anyone started buying or making clothes for Maji? I want to have something to dress her in when she arrives, but those thighs (which I love) are making me hesitant. I could stick with a dress or skirt for now but I'm also interested to know if I might be able to mod any purchased clothing to fit. Does anyone know what size Haru was dressing her in for photos? Minifee?

 

I believe he mentioned on IG that he dresses her in a mix of standard MSD and slim mini clothes. A lot of the stuff I’ve seen his Majis look like it’s from nine9style. I imagine stretchy slim mini clothes shouldn’t be too terribly awful to get over her thighs, particularly if they’re designed for Unoas vs. Minifees.

 

She wears shorts a lot and the thighs don't seem to get in the way. One of her short overalls is from Tree Design.

 

One of the pair of shorts she is wearing where made by me and I make them for minifee with a pretty tight fit so slimmini does work but I think with those hips you would need just a bit more seam allowance on the sides.

 

Oh no, something happened in the refinement of E-Minor that made me not love her as much anymore . That's what I get for falling in love with a sculpt before it's finished. Maybe seeing her with a faceup will change my mind back but I may be going with Maji after all.

 

I've been looking at clothes for my girl but I'm not sure about her style... I have a TON of MNF stuff and I can modify my patterns but I always like to buy something special for incoming dolls. I did get her a pair of boots though

 

I didn't realize Unoas had wider thigh measurements, thanks, that helps!

I've seen some people have trouble getting tight waisted skirts/shorts over thighs on some dolls, but I'm sure it depends on the style. I'd be fine modding some clothes in a case like that, though.

Hmmm... me too... Though I like her lips more than Maji and that might help me decide. But I really want one of these girls eventually. And I really like E-Minor with the big round glasses!

 

I think once I see her with a faceup and perhaps in a darker color I will love her again. I just feel like she became a little more childlike than from this photo of her here: She needs a backpack right now! . Now I'm getting a smooshy cheeks, darling 13 year old sass face vibe from her and she seems to look younger than Maji now where I would have said she was older before and I certainly prefer that age range more.

 

I'll wait for face-up too. See what that can do for her. I sort of wish I could mash Maji and E-Minor together and make the perfect doll.

 

Yes, I found her a bit different, too, less sassy, which is a shame, because it's what I really liked in the first pics of E-Minor.
