Haru Casting Mini Dolls

Super curious what everyone ordered! My partner and I ordered Maji in peach normal with face-up and E-Minor in nanni choco with face-up. I still haven’t decided on wigs for them. Anyone else chosen wigs? Where are you buying them from?

 

I ordered Maji in Maji Mild Tan with a faceup. I’m really not sure what kind of wig to get her... I figure she can borrow one of my other dolls’ till I have a feel for who she is. I’m definitely a bit worried she won’t like the clothes I already ordered for her... Seems to be the way things go for me in this hobby XD

 

I just saw my Maji on one of Haru’s stories! At least I think it’s her because she has the beauty mark I asked for Bliss to add. I’m so excited! She’s gorgeous. Now I just need to wait for the second invoice...

I ordered blank Eminor in Soft Tan on the 15th September which I think was the very first day of the pre-order, but then added a faceup a week later. I just heard that mine isn’t in the latest batch I have no idea how it works but obviously not in date of ordering! I’m sad but hey ho there’s not a lot I can do but wait. And I’m fine with waiting I guess!
As for wigs I honestly haven’t a clue yet. I tend to wait until a doll is in my hand to decide, I like to get a feel for the dolls ‘personality’ once it’s here, before I decide.
It’s the eyes I struggle with though, I don’t know what size Eminor wears, but think they are ‘low dome’ ... does anyone know for sure?

 

Yes! Haru said she wears 10-12 with no or low dome. Safrin’s soft glass/silicone eyes were recommended for me by two Maji owners.

Just received my email from Haru asking to confirm my shipping info and saying my e-minor will ship next week!!!! I am sooo happy!!!!

 

I'm so tempted to buy the tan E-minor that is on sale on Insta/in our hobbygroup ;_;
But I'm waiting for another preorder to happen soon, and I don't have funds for both D:

 

Life took over and I was out of the hobby for almost a year thus missing Maji pre-order . Any of you guys know there's a pre-order in near future ????

Got my tracking number for E-Minor (Basic Normal + F/U) today so she may arrive a little later this week, I'm so excited

@aeryn : I think he opened preorders twice last year; one in January and one in September. I haven't seen anything about when he plans to open them again.. yet, but he's pretty active on his instagram and open about his plans so it might not hurt to leave a comment and ask!

 

Received my E-Minor today!!! I literally did a happy dance when the postman handed me her box. I will try to post pics later, she is soooo pretty!!

I never got a shipping notice, I guess that means mine is one of the heads that hasn’t gotten back to Haru yet

 

The only thing I know is he might make it difficult to buy. My friend tried to buy e minor and he just wasnt professional about his behavior .He tried forcing her to set up an IG account or social media account posting her dolls. She had to show him pictures of her doll collection ,to show that she was indeed a collector. But apparently that wasn't enough, he refused to sell because she didnt want to cave in to his demands and set up an account to share her dolls via social media. He just pretty much ghosted her when she told him she wasnt interested in posting pictures. He just ignored her . My friend happens to be a serious collector with nice big collection of bjds. I dont know but I think his behavior was bizarre and unprofessional. Has anyone else had a similar experience while trying to buy a doll from haru casting?

Hey all! Thought I'd jump in, I ordered an Eminor in maji basic and I got an email saying she shipped! I'm very excited and hope everyone gets their dolls soon

I work long weekend shifts so I want to fully enjoy the unboxing experience and not be a total zombie when I first see her T__T My other MSD is supposed to be forest-girl/dressy so I think I'll take a casual/sporty direction with E-minor! I don't really have anything prepared for her though so she'll probably have to borrow an outfit anyways

 

Oh man, hi everyone! I just stopped by because i fell in love with eminor and saw that people are talking about orders! Is she already up for preorder? I haven't heard about this on his insta ;_; harucasting's weebly page only has the old dates i think.

I'd love to be filled in on what's going on, i really want her but can't afford another doll atm.

 

There aren't any preorders happening right now, Haru is still working on getting the orders from last September out. I think I saw a comment where he said maybe June or July for the next order, but I'm not exactly sure. You've got a little time to save! (I personally think I'm gonna need a Joa when she's ready )

Sporty sounds fun! My girl is kinda in the same boat as far as having anything ready for her, lol. She’s gonna have to do a lot of borrowing for the time being, though I did attempt making her a wig this weekend, so at least she’s not bald

 

Not personally but I know many small artists are very wary about recasters ordering a doll to copy and perhaps from your friend's location he was concerned about that being the case. Most of us who collect do have an online presence and lots of picture "proof" that our dolls are not immediately taken apart and made into molds. Obviously you know your friend, but he has to take precautions to protect his art and sometimes that may mean coming across as unreasonable to someone who has no intention of doing harm but just doesn't conform to normal doll collecting habits.

 

Hi, I finally finished her faceup after months of 90%+ humidity, for some reason she refused to be a brunette like I planned.
Oh, I was curious about those who ordered the skin color peach normal as I remember him telling me that colour wasn't available so I order Maji normal skin colour, but I remember seeing a lighter pink skin on the batches, couldn't figure it out what skin colour was it as i wanted my E-minor lighter but not white, anyway, I'm in LOVE with her, she is my best poser and the cutest bean ever.

I must confess that when I received his email with the questions before proceeding with my order my heart sunk into my chest, I was in love with E-minor since I first saw the sculpt in his IG and was really scared of not being able to purchase her, I was quite new in the hobby (about one year), was scared my collection wasn't good enough, or the faceups in my instagram weren't good enough, if i had enough pictures, if my answers were good enough, I can't imagine someone who is introspective and does not like sharing their collection ( is their right not to).
I was just honest about all the questions and everything went fine, maybe instead of fighting him, your friend could just say the reasons and show pictures only with him by email.
I believe he is very reasonable and kind and maybe your friend and him just got lost in translation.
Your friend should try again next pre order, I'm sure everything will be fine.
E-minor worth it.

Your friend might feel better if she listens to episode 22 of the podcast Ningyo Bingo. It talks a lot about how Haru was wrongly accused of recasting or something similar. I forget the exact details, but it really was tough and almost hurt his business. So I understand he is being very cautious for a lot of reasons! I do think the language barrier can also be tough. I’ve DMed him a couple times and he’s been really sweet. I think if she explains her feelings and adds some pictures he will understand! Be open and honest with your feelings while acknowledging where he is coming from. And listen to that episode if you get a chance. I hope that helps! Good luck!

Thank you for the replys. I was really curious on whether or not others had a similar experience. I sure hope when another preorder comes out she will be able to get the doll she wanted . I know she was really upset about how things turned out and that she didnt get her doll.

@Tahleechan Yay! Thank you for sharing your pictures, your girl is so precious! I love her as a blonde and the overalls look so nice! I got all of these dark color wigs for E-minor so I can match with her but she just looks so stinkin' cute in blonde and that lavendar wig that Haru previewed her with. I guess we'll see what happens TT

@Miss Hokusai I'm sorry that your friend had a disheartening experience and wasn't able to order this round I hope that she is able to add one to her collection! I get the same impression that everyone described; he's cautious and it can be expressed in a way that may come off wary, but he's a goofy dad once you establish a rapport with him! Though I don't want to excuse what happened, since your friend sounds pretty hurt by this experience; It's also hard to be put in a position where you have to prove yourself and still be refused TT
I was new to the hobby when I put in my request- my one MSD but no dolly pictures on my instagram (it was my personal- with just pictures of my family/travels.. I ended up making a doll insta later). I didn't receive a confirmation for a while after I sent the email form so I DM'd him to make sure it'd gone through (it must've gotten lost). He seemed a little skeptical at first and I was worried maybe I didn't have enough of a background with the hobby for him to accept my request, but I assured him that I would respect his art and protect his babies. The order went pretty smoothly overall. Good luck!

Haru just posted on his story that all the Bliss faceups are done and about to be shipped!! Fingers crossed we’ll all have our babies soon!

@dambuster01 Not too long ago (like in the past day or two) I think I saw that Haru shared a conversation on his IG story that he'll be sent his final batch with face-ups soon. It'll take a little time for the heads to reach him but I hope that that means you'll hear something soon, keep us updated! T///T

If anyone is open to explaining - how exactly does ordering with Haru work? I'm considering getting an E-Minor eventually because she is the absolute cutest, but I've had some trouble finding information on this.

Seeing everyone's owner pics is just making me want her more. What a sweet baby.

@staghaus Here's how I ordered my Maji:

1. Haru announced a pre-order on his Instagram. Instructions for ordering were on his website, which he linked in the announcement
2. Emailed my order to him. The order included which doll, how many, what color, and if I wanted a faceup. He also stipulated that you must agree to be anti-recast, and he asked for my Instagram ID (he checks to see what your doll collection is like on IG, someone mentioned that up above)
3. He emailed me back to clarify the order (he made a mistake, so I corrected him) and then asked me to PayPal the money for my order. He does ask that you pay Friends and Family so that there aren't fees.
4. Wait.....

.
.
.
5. I stalked Instagram and Flickr for updates...
.
.
.
.
.
6. Wait some more (lol)
7. He emailed me saying the doll would be shipped out soon (and emailed others their invoices if they paid layaway). At this point it's been about 6 months since ordering, but the faceup artist got sick, and things happen, so I'm not mad
8. soon I will get a tracking number!

I got my email for the second (and final) payment yesterday !! Apparently the heads have shipped from Russia and he has the bodies done!!! So hopefully it won’t be too long till I hear that my E-minor is in her way to my friend in the UK!!! And then hopefully after that on her way to me here in Spain!!! Poor thing will be exhausted after such a long journey!

 

hopefully you will get it soon. i paid my last invoice last sunday and e-minor arrived yesterday afternoon! of course she took a direct flight so that would be a bit faster than the scenic route yours is taking

unfortunately i got a blank one so it will be a while before i can introduce her. i have bronchitis at the moment and my inhalers make my hands shake really badly so no painting for a bit

This morning Harucasting was sent a letter from a concerned collector. She had found out through the Russian bjd forum, that recasters are trying to get hold of Maji and Eminor. They are trying through the second hand market So I urge everyone to be extra vigilant when selling, especially if selling off site. Because of the rules on this forum, we are pretty safe buying and selling here. Always check for feedback, vet your buyer, genuine legit collectors won't mind I'm sure. Haru is pretty devastated by the news. It hasn't happened yet, let's make sure it never does.

 

It's so sad @samson, and hopefully it won't happen...but yes we can just try to be vigilant and hope that whomever was looking for the dolls to cast, is not successful.
It makes me so angry that an artist works hard to make lovely dolls, they get popular and people want them and then this happens. It's a double edged sword.

Hi all! I know next to nothing about Haru Casting. They caught my eye when Maji came out and i fell in love but sadly i was unable to purchase her. Its made me even more concerned now that there are individuals out there with a mission to recast them. Do they ever re-release their dolls or is it always a one off? I get the feeling that they wouldn't want to after what has happened (i dont blame them!)

 

@Kentarin D'Ley Hey there! Yeah it is pretty sad that counterfeiters are trying to get a hold of Haru’s dolls. :/ The fact that a good couple of his sculpts are inspired by his kids just makes it even more of a gut-punch.

Anyway, none of Haru’s personal sculpts are limited, so he does re-release them, you just have to wait around for when he opens up preorders (following this thread as well as his Instagram account are the best places to keep an eye on that sort of news). Usually he keeps preorders open for about a month before closing them and then setting to work so he doesn’t get too overwhelmed since I believe it’s still just him casting all the dolls (on top of casting for other doll creators).

On that note, I really wish Haru would get this kind of information posted on his website so it’s more clear cut to new fans. x| Putting together a proper order form on his website would be good too. The man really needs to hire someone to take care of the accounting and customer service side of the business so he can focus on getting orders fufilled.
