20–39cm Dolls Handler Walter. Older Male Head in 1/6 Mature Tiny Scale

Sculpting a head for a character with a beard is so hard because I can't add the beard until much later

I'm addicted to mature tinies lately. Intending for it to fit on the Granado Regal 33cm body.

I have extreme obsession with Armored Core VI and I am so ride-or-die for my problematic old man Walter it's a little embarrassing, but anyway.... I am 3D-ifying my fan design (none of the characters are shown in detail in-game)

Test Print 2. Got a nasty layer line from some gunk in the vat >_<



Next Up: Smoothing the transition from the ear to the face and cutting up the sculpt for eyewells and headcap.

 

Test printed the wrong scale. >_< But noticed how it is much thinner than I thought it was.



More tweaking



Haven't successfully printed this iteration yet.

Had my first failure on my Saturn 4 Ultra. =_= Print fail detection seemed none the wiser.... Not sure what messed it up.

 

Printed out a few iterations today, fussing with the neck hole. Need to mess with the eyewells a little. Currently it fits only 4mm and I would rather fit 6mm for the sake of not buying yet more eye sizes and not that many people make 4mm to even start with.

This tiny head only taking 1.5 to 2.5 hours to print (my Saturn 4 Ultra is faster than my Saturn 1) makes iterating so fast compared to when I was working on Lejeune who was for 70cm and was like a 5 or 6 hours print iirc.

....can't tell if I mixed up my bottles of leftovers or if the pink dye died a horrible death because this was supposed to be a batch of BJD-like skintone I mixed up a while ago and it's rather washed out in photography oTL



Might size down the head a tinnnnnyyyyyyy bit to look nicer on the 5cm Granado neck. Currently it looks nice on a 6cm neck.

The head has a 10cm circumference, so a smidge larger than my granado Abel who has a 9.5-ish head.

 

Added some dye to the vat, it's closer to Granado Windfresh, but not 100% match. It's in the weird "depends on the lighting" zone.

His eyeballs fit 6mm now. Need to order magnets.

Sizing looks better on the 5cm granado neck now.

Gonna give it a little bit of sanding and face-up this head later.

 

Sanded and face-upped. Realized I forgot to post this here. I think I am happy with the sculpt.
