its been pretty crazy here this Christmas season - but most significantly my computer died just after Christmas - and is still dead. Unfortunately, the beginnings of a face tutorial was on it - and until we resurrect it, I can't get to the pictures. out of frustration I picked up a Hamster girl head that was sitting around and started working on her body - playing with different shaped beads to get better working joints - I'm happier with her shoulder and elbow joints than Pidge's by far.... and i managed to con Meg (Darkmothflame) into doing a great faceup on her (next up is a little cathead - waiting for Mau to come, maybe Meg can do this little head as a siamese in preparation for doing Ashbet's Mau for me (hint, hint )- Meg thought we should try a black wig on her (came with our limited Sharmin ) - and we realized that she is a Japanese hamster spirit (ok - what is a japanese hamster spirit called? not a kitsune...... ) so she is going to get a really dramatic kimono - black, with red lining, maybe (or red with black lining?) I had some german glass eyes in her which looked lovely - but got in the way of stringing her head, so Meg swapped in some taxidermy (coyote? no bobcat I think) eyes we had sitting around - I may try to give her some fine clearish claw like fingernails like our hamsters had .... but anyway - here are her first pics.... please let us know what you think!!! take care patl
Wow she's CUTE and I'm so sorry for your computer ;.; I hope you can get it running again. I was so looking forward to your tutorial ;.; But I must say the Hamster girl is cute as heck
She's so pretty! ^o^ I love her little hands and little torso and little head and.. *goes on and on* Awwwww... XD
Excellent ham-girl! I just love her hands >^___^<. I think that the semi-clear rodent claw/nails would be an excellent addition (on the living thing, their so cute~) She's just wonderful.
(grin) ok, having been totally blown away by some of the incredible heads that have been posted to this forum - and then appropriately humbled by the artistic opinions of some people who didn't much like hamster girl..... I discovered that I hadn't done a very good job of showing how big (or little) she was - and people were thinking she is a catsy. so for fun i posted a photoshoot of her with catsy and hound. http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42297 and she and I will wander off to work on some new projects... (like feet for the poor dear.....) take care patl
ah don't let yourself be discouraged by twits who have no idea how much work you do on your doll. I must say if they thought your Ham-girl was a Catsy then they know nothing about Ball jointed dolls. I love your creations and that photostory was very cute ^___^ <__can't wait to get her own hound.
Wahhh shes cute! But she reminds me of simba the lion cub from the lion king!! I dunnno why! I love how clever you were when using the beads for the ball joints!!! *jen
So cute >w< I love the little paws/hands! What did you make her out of? The body looks a bit like it's made of Sculpey (the regular kind)..
