Accessories Halo Crown

So I am intending to make a nice floral ornate halo crown for my Heliot, I was just wondering what people out there had done for the actual headband itself. I’ve been looking at guides for human sized ones and they all build on a simple plastic headband.

My current go to idea would be to wind together some wire and then wrap it in ribbon or hair matching the colour of the wig, but I was curious if anyone else out there had made one and what they did for the ‘base’ of it so to speak.

oh washi or masking tape, that’s a good idea, and the latter would match the colour of the wig lol. Might use that for the practise run, thank you
