great success with yarn wefts!

Aug 26, 2023

    1. [IMG] Hi all! This is me showing some great success I had with creating yarn wefts. I used some yarn that was on sale from Hobby Lobby and the brand I believe was “I Love Yarn”. It is 100% acrylic. I just tied it to a paintbrush with Mozekyto’s method and then used a wire brush and manual unraveling. Then I pressed several times with a straightener. It definitely took a while, but the wefts come out to just about 10in. Wow!
(I can’t seem to share the img properly, so here is a link: imgur.com)

    2. Oh wow, that is some excellent length! A friend of mine recently attempted to make yarn wefts and lost so much length while unraveling.

    3. I guess it really just depends on the brand of yarn! I believe mine was described as “anti-pill” so maybe that helped somehow too? Not sure!

    4. That's one heck of a weft. Do you mind sharing a link to the tutorial you mentioned?

    5. Here it is. I didn’t follow it to a T- I made my yarn loops really long and used a paintbrush to tie them to instead of the recommended green mesh material. I’m really not sure why mine turned out so different! It is still thin at the ends but it isn’t very shiny and holds together nicely. Maybe unraveling it with my hands helped the most.

    6. Ui! I´m very interested in trying that myself!
But I have to figure it out how to create a wig with that in the first place.

    7. Thank you for sharing! I will look into that brand of yarn - I've tried a few others and liked them, but they didn't get that long!

    8. I'll need to look into that brand when my new girl's head gets here so that I can make her wig properly. Thank you so much for sharing!

    9. Thanks for sharing! You've obviously done a good job

    10. I got some more! It’s actually I love THIS yarn. Available at Hobby Lobby!
