Granado Tiny Doll Discussion

Apr 21, 2018

    1. It‘s rare to see dolls in this size, I'm wondering where else can people purchase clothing and shoes. Anyhow I love this new idea! Can't wait to see dolls in this size as they are so much easier to carry and post XD

    2. I added the measurements to the first post so it is easy to find.
@AChung Lots of companies make shoes for this size action figure. You just need to be sure they are empty shoes, not made for pegs. I have found that the shoes for feet usually say lace up and some actually say empty.

    3. He's here! But his eyes and clothes are at my apartment, and I'm at my parents house, so I'll have to share more pics later.

He's "sunshine" resin, by the way. And the some of the magnets in his changeable bits have fallen out, so I'll have to re-glue them.

I just noticed that three of the fingers on his left hand have cracks in them. I'm going to email the company to tell them/ ask for a replacement.

    4. Congratulations @Leo Pheonix that he is home. His color is wonderful. Too bad about the fingers, that is sad but the magnets not being in place may be a blessing in disguise since I had to take one out to set it correctly.
I sent an email to them about the problem and they asked for photos, so I sent the before and after pix I posted here.
I'm still waiting for a shipping notice for my tan boy, that I ordered first. *_*
      :wantshipping:

    5. So good to see the Sunshine boy. I have ordered my 45 cm in Sunshine and was worried that the new resin seemed darker than the Sunshine we see here on my Andrew avatar. I have always preferred this warm resin and have several here already.

My 31.5 boy in tan is already in the country and should be home in a couple of days. [IMG]

    6. He's my first doll from Granado, so i didn't really know what the color would look like in person. I was originally going to order tan, I'm happy I picked this color instead! I'm looking forward to seeing how the tan looks in comparison.

    7. Ooh, that's such a lovely color! Now I wish I'd bought two guys. ;)

    8. I love his color too! Now I regret getting NS, but I wasn't sure what I was going to do with him and it seemed versatile... Dang. Maybe they'll do another order... :B I can never have too many tiny boys (r-right?).

    9. He looks great. @Leo Pheonix
I put the 'piece' magnet on the 'body' magnet then placed the normal piece on using the lower magnet to hold the piece in place, if it looks right you can glue it with a tiny spot of super glue gel so it doesn't glue the two pieces together just the magnet to the 'piece'. If it still has a gap carve a bit of resin away toward the back of the piece not the front.
I can take some photos tomorrow if you want visuals.

    10. I've got the "handy" part fixed, but will have to try to deepen the magnet hole on the "normal" one, and my exacto knife is at my parents' house. He has clothes, so no one will know anything is missing, right? ;)

    11. Right!!! :wiggle;):thumbup

    12. I'm so happy with this little tan guy who arrived this morning.. He is body blushed and face up complete. Just headless while I make a hard cap for his wig. Hardest job was trying to insert eyes with my big fingers. Just waiting on his new hard cap wig.

I checked his "parts" and all seem well lined up with magnets in place. I guess this may have been part of the reason why the darker resins were slower in shipping.

    13. Ahh I'm so jealous of everyone's new arrivals! (And happy to see them, of course.) I got my shipping notice but the tracking hasn't updated since the 29th... He's somewhere... Out there... Maybe it's a sign that I need to prepare him some clothes before he gets here. Has anyone posted detailed measurements? (Granado?)

    14. Look at the first post, I put them there.

    15. Oh thank you! That's right, you did say. It fell clean out of my mind. :) Thanks!

    16. [IMG] I love the tan resin. I have body blushed him and he has a face up. I also made his wig. Plenty of clothes here from other Hot Toys, JI Joes and Kens. Bicycle is from Amsterdam. [IMG]

    17. @charon He looks amazing!

It's really cool that we all have the same sculpt but they are all different!

    18. I found a bike too. Seriously thinking of getting one now that I've seen how it looks with him. He is gorgeous @charon. His hair is great!

    19. I have a few big Granado boys here and those spread hands always annoyed me for dressing but certainly help Lucifer hold the bike handles.

I'm having so much fun here while he tries on dozens of Hot Toy outfits. I usually sew for all my dolls but no need here.

    20. Are they right off the Hot Toy or can you buy Hot Toy clothes somewhere?

    21. A lot of doll clothes are available on ebay, so you could look there.

I sent Granado images of my dolls cracked (though not actually broken) wrist and fingers, and they said they'll send me a replacement. So I won't be permanently worried that his left hand is going to break. :)

    22. Hot Toys clothes are sold on Ebay and reasonably cheap. I find the only 1/6th shoes he can wear are those made of rubber. The soft rubber ones are perfect. Plastic is just too rigid. You can also find props like furniture and musical instruments there as well. I have just ordered a chestnut horse for my Lucifer - will take a couple of weeks to come from China. He already has two motorbikes.

    23. Thank you very much!!!

    24. It seems like Fashion Royalty Homme clothes may fit this size Granado body pretty well. I received a jacket today and it was a good fit - I also have a pair of jeans and a pair of sneakers coming, so I should know more next week. (The jacket was actually from a FR fullset, so it's an 'official' one, by Integrity.)

You can look for 'fashion royalty homme' on eBay or Etsy, and there's also Clear Lan, which makes really nice stuff:
Clear lan | dresses for doll | Momoko clothes | Nippon Misaki clothes| Blythe clothes| Lati-Yellow clothes| doll clothes | clearlan

    25. I'm really curious to know if the pants fit--though I guess I can test that theory tomorrow when my guy gets in! I have a shirt and pants I got from a Taobao store meant to fit FR, and the shirt fits my Soom boy very well but the pants don't fit in the waist at all (far too big).

    26. The vigor body has such a narrow waist, I've had to add pleats to the Ken doll pants because they are too loose. I didn't want to take my guys feet off again but I guess I will to see how the new action figure suit fits him.

    27. Mine just arrived! I’m really impressed by his posing and the only negative is the weird shape of his heels, that might need sanding. I was planning to sculpt a 1/6 scale head for the body but at the moment he’ll be keeping the lucifer head. Now, eyes... tiny, tiny eyes...

      • x 1
    28. Congratulations @Spuggey! You are probably right about these heels, that may solve a few of my clothing changing woes too.

    29. I suggest Dreaming Tree Studio eyes. My guy has a pair in "suede" and they are perfect for him.

    30. Someone said that sanding the heels might mess up the balance/how well he can stand. I'm not sure if it will, but it did make me think.

    31. I got my boy!! The FR pants do indeed not QUITE fit--but the shirt fits him perfectly. Agree with others--hard plastic shoes are a no-go thanks to his odd heel shape.

More pictures are here in my box opening thread!

He's so beautiful... I need to get him eyes and his own look!! Still not even sure what to call him.

    32. Eee, congrats, @Idoru! We'll figure out this boy's sizes yet. :)

    33. Congrats!!!!
I got an answer from Granado that my tan boy will be shipped this week. I ordered him first but he is taking his own sweet time getting here.

In the meantime I can't name the boy I have until slow poke arrives, but I got some new glasses and a suit and the sneakers have arrived in the US. The suit requires foot and hand removal, :vein, unless I alter the sleeves on both the shirt and jacket. I think the pants will fit over his big feet but I have to take them off anyway to get him out of the pants he is wearing.:doh
The vest fits perfectly and the suit comes with a belt. I'm going to have to find an outlet for the three pair of black wigtips for peg feet. Maybe I can use them on my zombies :ablink:

    34. Congrats @Idoru !

Your boy is looking quite stylish, @SteamWitch !

I'm still not sure what mine's name is... I wish I could make up my mind!

    35. Typhoon Mangkhut is going to hit Hong Kong where Granado is. I hope it downgrades before it hits land. Living on the Texas coast I know the nightmare of a storm like that one. I hope everyone is going to be okay.

      Just because he is cute.

    36. Well, the Fashion Royalty Homme shoes would be an absolutely perfect fit... if I could get them over those huge heels. As it stands, the doll's heels just mash the backs of the shoes flat. If I had stiffer shoes - or if I modded the doll's heels to be less bulgy - these shoes would be perfect. I imagine a pair of sandals or backless shoes would work fine, as well.

    37. I ordered several pairs of 1/6th Hot Toy shoed on Ebay for my boy but as I am already a collector of Hot Toys I found I already have a good selection of them here already. Smart dress shoes, sporty runners and boots. As long as they are made of soft rubber they are perfect. Avoid the hard plastic ones.

    38. Mine got shoes yesterday, they fit great after you loosen the laces like all the way. We also got another pair for his friend who is stuck in Hongkong because of the Typhoon.

    39. [IMG]

These shoes have real laces but don't need adjusting. The outfit is from Hot Toys on Ebay. The pleather jacket is fully lined with two real zip pockets in the lower front and two more tiny zips on the sleeve cuff. Jeans have the tiny fop pocket as well as all usual details. I had to loosen the shirt cuff and sew snaps so that he could jet his hands in. I have more than a dozen similar outfits here but some sleeves can be restricting with his spread fingers. Granado seems to favour spread fingers and when I pointed that out with my Mars on the Evol body Crocus offered two new sets as an option with more closed fists. He has not designed extras for the Vigor body (yet).

    40. He looks great in that outfit. I like the shoes too. Little clothes doesn't mean little prices, some of them are ouch pricey but the details are wonderful.

Granado doll marked they liked my comment about them being safe on IG 11hr ago so I am assuming they are OK.
Edit: I got my shipping notice for my tan boy!!! :whee:

    41. The FR Homme jeans arrived today and I embarked upon the horror that is removing Lucifer's feet in order to get his legs into trousers. AUGH that was the WORST. It took me about forty-five minutes of pulling and hurting my fingers and dropping tiny s-hooks and fiddling around with tweezers, but eventually I got him be-trousered and re-footed.

As others have said, the FR Homme pants are too big in the waist - but they are a perfect fit otherwise. And, since the jeans I bought close with a snap fastener in the back, moving the fastener over about a centimeter and re-sewing it results in an absolutely perfect fit that even looks just fine. Which is good, because I'm damned if I'm removing those feet again! *_*

    42. Yah, removing those feet is a nightmare. *_* Glad about the news on the FR pants. I may change out the s-hooks for different ones that are easier to work with.
Which is why I haven't tried the suit on the one I have. I'll wait until my tan guy arrives and go through all that with him.:horror:

    43. I'm happy that my guy will be wearing homemade clothes, since I am not taking his hands or feet off to change his clothes. Putting them on again hurts my fingers!

    44. Augh, isn't that the worst? You have my sympathy! I hope he pops out again quickly for you, but man, there's just no way to tell.

    45. Yes, I know it is in the hands the shippers, but this is torture. I cross my fingers every time I click the link. Hopefully soon it will show up in a U.S. city. :(

    46. All at once the tracking updated, inbound, outbound San Fransisco to inbound, outbound Houston now in route to my city. I may get him today. :sumomo:

    47. Yay! Looking forward to seeing him!

    48. He's here!

    51. I love the matching shirts!

    52. Thank you, I just finished them today. They are standing with my Ringtoy K having a chat, my three little guys.

    53. They have names!!!! True Kincaid is tan and Lyric Vanteer is NS with glasses.
Edit: True got his real eyes this evening. I'll try to get a new photo of him soon.

    54. Congratulations! Sometimes it's a real struggle to find just the right name. They're looking good!
