Granado Tiny Doll Discussion

Order for new body is in. Yay. Of course, I now have NO money and must make everything for them out of what is already in house, but I'm excited.

Regarding the objectionable heels, is there any way to just sand them down a bit? If you swap the Adagio feet for the Vigor feet and he still stands well, why not just make them like the Adagio feet?

 

Lol, I FEEL THIS. I still had to do some of the ol' warming-shoe-up-with-hot-water trick to get the ones I have on Desiderius on his feet, but they DID go on which is more than I can say for the 2 Vigor boys I have!

And @Vindalootoo that's actually a great question. I'm not sure about the swapping--I've never tried--but if someone else has... I'd love to know! I've considered sanding the heels down but I'm nervous about it.

 

I don't have any of them yet, so I can't try, but if no one else does before my lads come in, I'll try. However, looking at the posted sizes of feet from @SteamWitch on the first page, there appears to be almost a centimeter difference in foot length! I find that hard to believe, considering they are the same height, but if it is that different, part of Vigor's posable stability might lie in those big heels.

Actually, I find that Vigor31 measurement suspect.The difference between the foot size of the 75 Vigor and the 70 Adagio is less... mathematically, the Vigor31 foot s/b 3.8cm long and the Adagio70 measurements I calculated from the Adagio 75 were dead on.

I fear I'm going to be making a lot of shoes! Fortunately, mocassins will work for most of this crews' footgear.

 

I don't need any more tiny guys, but I've got a doll with a single jointed body whose character I've been hoping to re-shell for a while. He's supposed to be Chinese, so Shadow might work for him. His girlfriend has a size 4 head, so I'm worried he'll look out of scale next to her. At least I get a whole month to decide.

 

If it helps, I have some pictures of Des (my Garden) with Aura, who has an 11cm/4" head! Garden has a smaller head than Shadow, even; he's definitely my smallest one. I think they look cute together, not out of scale or anything. Your mileage may vary, of course, but here's one for reference!

 

Fun response from Granado. (SNEAKY CROCUS!) I asked them if there was any thought to giving the option of thigh joint for other bodies and whether the Vigor 31 was being discontinued, as it's not listed on the bodies on the new site.

In fact we do not know about the hip joint either. It is a secret project as not all of our staffs know about 31Ascent body until 1week before it's release. So we only knew only 1 week earlier than you do. 31Vigor is not discontinued. He will be opened sell within release new tiny models. So no need to worry about it.

Thank you, I am doing layaway on the new 31Ascent body and looking around for clothes. I need to buy him pants to wear at least, hope their clothes fits.

 

They should fit! I would get the FR size, that's what I've got on my Adagio boy and it fits perfectly.

Facets Boutique still has some Monique wigs in stock. I just ordered one for the Shadow I haven't actually decided I'm ordering yet. I can't decide if Windfresh would be the right skin tone, or if Apricot would be better.

found 2 different seller with wigs I like so trying to find out how much but seems like its going to cost more than the Monique wig. I check some monique wigs but I don't like any of them.

 

If you want the quality you pay the price. The wig I bought cost $85-90 + fees. There's also a wait time, depending on who you order from. I've also found someone with in stock wigs but that's really uncommon.

 

Great wigs are expensive! I ordered the long wig that Granado offered with Shadow. I was a little hesitant because of the price but it is AWESOME! I will try to get a picture soon!

 

One of the wig I like will cost me $60 plus ship to me and I am waiting for the 2nd to find out $$.

I got some Azone glasses for my Garden, and I just love how they look on him. I was contemplating trying to add lenses, but I don't know... At this scale it's very intimidating, haha.

 

I got the wigs I ordered. The size 3 I ordered does not fit on the head of my V-11, Rowan. He's been wearing a size 3 faux fur one that originally belonged to a Real Puki. The size 4's I've tried have been too big. Sigh.

Hello everyone! Could you help me with the eyes choice, please? What size is the iris in their eyes? I guess, 2.5mm would fit for realistic look?

I've ordered Ninth and want to be fully prepared.

 

I think my 9th has realistic 6mms in which i personally find too small.

 

Granado has 6.5mm eyes in stock.

 

I'm hoping the 6mm oval eyes Denver Doll has will work for Shadow. They're a realistic style.

 

Hey! Hope to join the club I've ordered a couple of Granado tiny guys and spend my time looking for clothes and shoes etc.
I guess I have to second Zander's question about the eyes, which I hope to order somewhere since I was dissatisfied with the colors at Granado web-site. I believe they were talking about the iris size of those eyes, not the eyeball itself. Does anyone have a sliding caliper?

 

the size of the eyes is 6.5mm or maybe 7mm.The iris size is about 2mm. I just used a measuring tape on eyes that came with Garden.

 

Agree with @nancy_schroeder_ca--I got 6/2mm eyes for my Garden. I think 6/3 would work fine for some of the other boys, but for Garden specifically of my four Granado boys that extra mm really made the difference! It a LITTLE depends on which head you have, they do vary a bit there. (My Napoleon and Lucifer both have 6mm eyes with a more "normal" iris proportion and they look fine imo.)

I've ordered Shadow and Noah. I believe their eyes are a bit wider than Garden's, so may be 6.5/3 or 6.5/2.8 will do the trick
I'm so excited about these guys as they're going to be in a new format for me, half of my crew are ID75s

My little guys are in the US. ETA tomorrow, but last update yesterday in CA, so who knows? I fear I'll be parked by the door in the living room for days! But I have their arrival robes ready. (I made an extra for the little guys in case they argue over fabrics...) Now I need to make some moccasins...

I cannot wait to get my Ninth already! He will be my tiniest cutiepie.

 

The crew has arrived! Wishing I'd gotten Wesley in Suntan, but other than that very happy. Both the big guys have Noah heads...I think only the smaller one will be used. It's good for younger Wesley, and the only time I'll be photographing young Wesley is in conjunction with JP, who will then get the taller, Vigor body. So if anyone wants a 75cm Noah head.... The bodies are 70Adagio and 74Vigor, supposedly in new normal and windfresh, but the difference is VERY slight.

I got the articulated hands for the two big guys, and I'm really very impressed with them. I was dubious, but I figured in for a penny...

The little guys are, left to right, Wesley, Vigor with a Shadow head, which will become Stephen's head, when the new guy comes in, and Wesley will get the Noah head it's coming with, Next is Fireside Stephen, Zen with a Galileo head (I think...that's what the slip says) but that will be changed to a shadow. Fireside Stephen will get full body makeup in exotic patterns. That's the theory anyway. It's a very significant moment in the book and I really want a fireside Stephen. The new Ascent will be the normal clothes horse Stephen. Next is Anevai, Native American Tomboy. Ninth on the female embody. I ordered the small bust, but it appears that's an add-on, as she arrived with serious gazongas and a spare small bust part. And finally Jean-Phillippe, Lucifer on the Adagio body. Anyway, here they are:

It is, of course, raining for the first time in almost three months, so no faceups for a few days at least. Grrrr....
