I was able to get a face up done on my boy, but it's kinda meh. I need to darken the colors and look at more guy face up tutorials. It doesn't help that the only day warm enough to do it since I got him had intermittent rain showers and he was rained on twice while the Testors was drying. I also made a wig! Which came out horrible. I have alpaca out the butt tho, so I'll try again. Eventually. In the meantime, does anyone know where to get a masculine short wig in his size? On the plus side, his eyes are on the way! So that's good.
My boy arrived today! The clothes that fit Kit (My Model Delf Leo) fit him for the most part except for length.Although stretchy pants work fine. the sweater he's wearing is an Iplehouse JID size.He seems to fit general MSD shoes. I was surprised as his feet look huge. The eyes I have for him are glass 6 mm and fit him nicely. His head is small so I'll have to make a wig. His posing is amazing but fiddly to me. He stood right out of the box . Tonight is Halloween and I have too much to do 20181031_154144_resized by Kit Lioncourt, on Flickr
Thanks to you both. I definitely ordered the smaller size 40 - 43 cm. In that one I paid the first $100 deposit on 28th March which was about the time of the Granado inquiry. I'm going to let Granado know although I have already given him a face and body blush.
That’s so weird you got the wrong size, I wonder what Granado will say. I’m still working on my guys faceup, then I’ll move to wig making. Finding masculine wigs is like impossible, even my 65cm guy suffers from girly hair.
We remember you have ask us to make your deposit as 45 - 48 cm Vigor doll with Lucifer head. You can check your post below: http://doll-granado.com/xe/22244 Also we have refunded your $100 in the order #2534. Maybe you forgot about that. We are turly thankful for your support.
Sorry - way back in April. This doll has been in the pipeline so long I totally forgot. He is a beautiful doll in sunshine so it looks as though he will need his own new wardrobe.
Here is Byron in sunshine. I have given him a face up, manicure, body blush and a hard cap wig. No he is going to need his own special wardrobe. I think we are going to get along OK. The silicon washers in joints make posing a dream.
My box opening is now live! You can find it here: /threads/45-47cm-lucifer-arrival.791221/ Also, I got his face looking nicely. It's not exactly Tony Thornburg, but it's nice enough within my abilities haha!
Congrats! I think I’ll put the finishing spray on mines faceup tomorro. I ordered eyes today from an Etsy story out of Russia so hopefully that doesn’t take forever. In the meantime, pretty sure my doll is singing: “WHATS MY NAME WHATS MY NAME you ordered me in april I know you are able You’ve had plenty of time..” But also I saw this pic of a buff kilted guy on my Flickr feed and now I know what his first outfit will be! Halloween 2018
Noticed that Granado post measurements of the various Lucifer sizes on Flickr. 44199830970_8a9b7b6c17_z by Kit Lioncourt, on Flickr
Here is the faceup and yarn wig for my guy. I ordered him different eyes...but they kind of suck so I put back the yellow ones. Maybe he'll hang on to these for a while yet. I wonder if I should have made his eyebrows darker... Lance's Faceup & Wig by Skyealloway, on Flickr
I'm surprised not to see any buzz over the 43cm Napoleon crowdfunding! After dithering between the 32cm and 43cm, I thought 43cm would go better with the majority of my other dolls. I entered in for the crowdfunding deposit this morning. I hope enough people put in for him! If not, I'll have to get a little guy! On a related note, does anyone have pictures of a size comparison of 43cm Lucifer next to the Dollshe Fashion Maxi (M or F) or the Unoa 2nd?
I'm tempted by a 48cm Napoleon to go with my Lucifer, but there is another doll I've been waiting to be released so I don't have the funds for him. When I asked Granado about that size they said so far only one other person had put in an order for one. Either way, I'll look forward to seeing the guys in all sizes. It's cool that Granado is doing that now. I know a lot of people were asking about them doing smaller dolls even though they already had Terra. They didn't make any other heads that size (and no girl). Now most people can be happy at least! Certainly gives more hybrid options.
Given the choice, I think I would have preferred a Napoleon to Lucifer, but alas. It's encouraging that they're testing the waters with the other head sculpts. If they ever do Neptune, my wallet is doomed. Hopefully this round gets enough buyers to go to production! I can't afford to toss my hat in this time, but Napoleon is beautiful, and now that I know Iplehouse FID heads fit on that body...
@skyealloway my FID guy's head fits great on the 48cm body. No gapping, good range of motion, looks proportional despite the cranium being a little deeper. Not sure about resin match as my FID is Special Real and my Lucifer is in normal, because I didn't think about hybridizing until way too late. My hope would be that Special Real and tan would be a decent match, but I don't have a tan Granado to check, or a normal Iple to compare normals, lol. Actually, does anyone in the thread have "matching" Iplehouse and Granado to check? I think I'll have to look through the forum and see what we've got for resin comparison pics.
I'm very tempted by Napoleon, but I don't know between 43 and 48.cm .. I would like to choose the one which will fits best with my Dollshe Fashion Rey Lewis so I guess 43 cm ... but really I don't know given the other measurments....Does anyone have comparison pics to share? Does someone can give the head circumference of 43 and/or 48 cm boys? Thank you for your help!
Elion , mu 47 cm Lucifer got a faceup and body blushing. Being colorblind makes it tough. I ask my bf to help me with the colors but I never really know. It's not great but I'm happy enough . Damn restringing him was hard. The elastic barely fits through his channels and on the arms it's so close that you have to really work to get it to unstretch. I Will say that he's an amazing poser and stands pretty much however you try with almost no fiddling. My phone camera sucks so excuse the crappy photo. @chrstphrl - Nice photo. I originally wasn't interested in the vigor body but seeing how good the sculpting looks in your photo I may have to get one of these crowd funded size if they ever shrink down the Raguel sculpt or release a new similar sculpt. How do the thigh cut joints work? What is your review of those? And what is his head circumference?
I did this contortion/torture to my little guy but I'm sure the Mini can pull off the same moves. Granado Vigor body contortions by SteamWitch, on Flickr
@SteamWitch - Thanks for the photos. Interesting the thigh cut goes back very well. Does it not hold forward at all?
Yes it goes forward just as well. Holds these positions very well by himself. Upward movement of thigh cut by SteamWitch, on Flickr
Thanks for the photos. I'll definitely have to keep an eye on what future sculpts are released with the crowd funding sizes.
Are there any videos of handling a 30cm Granado doll? I'd really to get a better idea of his size, and I think seeing him move in hands would really help. Thanks.
It doesn't look like either of the mini sized guys are going to make the crowdfunding targets. I love that there are two options in this range, but since they're so close in size, it splits the pool of people that would probably settle for the other one, if only one option was available. I really want a Napoleon in a mini size... but I'm going to ask if I can put my crowdfunding deposit toward the 31 cm if the 43cm is a no-go.
Good idea. I wish they would put the number that had been 'voted' for a size so there is more chance that one of the minis gets made.
It would be great if they had some sort of regularly updated status bar! If it doesn't get to the minimum of 5, Granado said they would ask me if I want to apply my deposit to another size before they return it, so, there is that, at least. If that's the case, my tiny 26/27 cm girls might get a tall new friend... @Araeyla I know! There's always a chance he could get funded before the deadline though. I almost wish I could afford 3 additional dolls to push through funding for the 43cm.
If I had the funds I still would not of been helpful as I want him in the 47cm size to go with my other one. but I can't get him in either case. I hope it goes through so we can see more of these guys around. Though my poor Lucifer still does not have hair yet (or a face due to the weather).
It looks so... I did see someone considering switching from the 53cm to the 43cm on one of the instagram posts... but it looks like they're sticking with 53cm, for now. If it doesn't look like we'll get a 5th person to deposit at the deadline, I would be willing to put in for a second one. I think it would be neat to have him in Syringa in addition to a more traditional skin tone. I see his end day is 2/11- does anyone know if that means I would have to order by Sunday (2/10), or will it still be open to order Monday (2/11)? Waiting until the last minute makes me antsy...
Probably by Sunday the 10th since it is about 7am on Saturday right now in China (5PM US CST) doesn't leave much time.
@Araeyla and I live in the same city (even if she is out in the wopwops/boonies) and were talking about this last night. I’m u4bik on Instagram and I’m trying to get the 53cm! However, I told Granado that if 53cm doesn’t happen, I will get the 43cm instead. Granado came back and told me that the 53cm appears “impossible” and told me if I switched, 43cm will be funded. So the likelihood of the 43cm going forward is pretty good. It’s a little bittersweet tbh, but I hope this reassures you to some degree. Heh heh heh! (In dramatic voice) Please plant your dreams in the grave of my 53cm Napoleon and my tears will water them!
Just a quick note: I have asked Granado to switch me from 53cm over to 43cm. Congratulations, friends! It’s still bittersweet but it’s far better that one person is disappointed than five. I have a 42cm Menagerie Venus Boy shipping soon that I hope 43cm Napoleon will look good with. Any recommendations on Granado resin colours?
@xylene Sorry about you 53cm guy (for now)! Thanks, for joining the 43cm club, though! I got the remainder request email this morning, and I'm having much more difficulty choosing a skintone that I thought I would. (I usually instantly know what I want for any given sculpt.) So, I just did a (very quick, rough) skintone comparison with Napoleon's head. Aaaand I'm still having trouble deciding.
I quite understand the dilemma, their resin colors are amazing. I went with Normal because I love my tiny Lucifer in normal.
Oh man, resin colours are the next hurdle I’ll likely just go for normal because a) I’m boring and b) the character is a pasty ginger Celt-type. I’m really sorry for those who missed out
After fully intending on going for white or normal, I went off the wall and opted for Syringa because I just kept coming back to it.
Syringa is a very pretty purple-grey color. I'm waiting for a Lads body in that color for my Enoch head
I was not original and went for new normal resin Also asked Granado if I could purchase additional head (also Napoleon) with my doll and it was possible (the character I have in mind has two distinct face-ups, I hope I will stay motivated to do it )
No problem! Though if he doesn't match up with my incoming Menagerie Venus boy, you are all contractually bound to help me find Napoleon a new home. (Not really, heh heh!) @Kayka Thank you for the resin comparisons. Do you guys find those resin colours to be true to life? If the 53cm had gone through, I was going to get Syringa! But now I don't know, because this character will be human, but I have no idea at all who he is.
I can only comment on Bronze and Tan, and not any of the other colors, unfortunately! I have two vindolls and a bronze resin head, but from what I can tell, the vinyl is quite close to the resin colors as my bronze vindoll and resin head are a near-perfect match. In person, the bronze is a few shades lighter than the above picture (It's close in color to Dollshe pale tan, if that's of any help). The tan looks fairly close-ish to the above though.
