And what a lovely welcome he is.

In my case, I know that I'll break them. My days of woodworking proved to me that I'm just not as skilled with my hands as I would like to be...
It's why I'm always so impressed when someone completes craft projects for these dolls (from sewing to full-on mods). Their talent blows my mind!

 

I am happy to see that discussion thread has come to part four already! You guys always update so fast. So difficult to catch up with the discussions.
Sometimes I mod dolls face, but just a little (like pare nose or lips), I am afraid to do mod on bodies too!

I always thought I'd be too chicken to mod, and I'm still not sure I could do a BIG mod, but I'm happy with the sanding I did and consider that modding haha.

Modding isn't too hard if you invest in the right tools and respirators, work your way up to the tricky bits and take your steps carefully.
Hee, thanks everybody for the kind words about modders! I admit I enjoy hearing the encouragement, especially when I'm in the middle of a tough project like my Nobility body I'm trying to repair right now.

 

Loving the Fayette pictures! She is really growing on me the more I see her.

But wow! Your Fayette's splendid! She's got such a bright, summery feel to her (if that makes any sense ).

Any change to a sculpt is considered modding. ^^
And you still have to show us your results! *is really eager* Have you given her a face-up yet?

Careful isn't always enough.... Vision, steady hands and practice are certainly a big plus. Really though, it's all about the guts! And I certainly don't have the guts to be practicing on any one of my beloved boys! So I shall remain in awe of all of you that do.

And yeah, that Nobility project looks like hell. Luck!

kirika: Actually, I just took some pictures today, though it's of my girl on the Supia body which looks really awkward haha. No, she doesn't have a face-up because I still haven't been to Lowes to buy a mask haha. They're just so expensive *sigh*

It is cool that we are already on the 4th Granado thread. It is good to have such discussion going, considering the company has only been around for a little over a year.

 

Or the mini that's been hinted at in the past? The legs look cute though. ^^ Those are more the kind of legs you need with the Void and Xavier sculpts!

It's amazing how different she looks from ikaru's Fayette. Yep - versatility.

More like, irritated that some of the clothes that just came in for him didn't fit! Sigh. Oh well.
Kaien just got himself a new face-up (that chip kept irritating me after all). You can't see it well with this shot, but I took out some of the black from his previous face-up and added more purple, instead. He also has a new wig on the way! It's coming in with the wigs for my Davon and V-04... Can't wait!

I just saw it! Your Gitana looks lovely - it's really amazing what a light sanding job will do for a sculpt! She looks a good deal more feminine now. What kind of face-up are you aiming to give her?

Here it is. ^^ The Gitana mods really look so good!

Yeah, I really liked his old face-up and wanted to keep it pretty much the same... I just eased up on the black acrylic a bit and added a touch more purple to his eyes and lips is all. I wanted him to still be able to do that -->



So, nothing too drastic. The slight changes I did make will look better with his incoming wig than his old face-up would have.

And that irritating little chip has been obliterated. Happy days.

It is a Dollheart outfit called My Mother Killed Me...I am trying to find an outfit like Titania's on Granado Web site. The outfit was unavailable when I purchased my Fayette...I found one similar from Angell-Studio, I ordered it with another outfit and they are both too small for my Titania

 

There is no feet joints?

I love his new faceup, this faceup (specially the purple lips) is perfect match with his fur wig!
I cannot wait for my dolls too. That's really anxious to wait a doll coming.

From what I've seen, many jointed get added in after the initial sculpting has taken place. So I'm going to imagine that the final product in this case will also have ankle joints.

Waiting for these current two dolls is making me broke - I keep buying them stuff! They're going to have so many difference wardrobe choices when they finally *do* get here that it's ridiculous... I've got to find another way to distract myself.

Your touch-ups around her chin were exactly what she needed. I really couldn't see the Gitana sculpt as anything but male until your adjustments.

And thank you! Kaien has a face that was just made for brooding, what with that furrowed brow and pouty lower lip. I love looking over and seeing him glare.

Geh... I, on the other hand, am hoping that the release of the mini doll (or slim version sd?) is put off for a little while yet... *needs the monies* I'm still looking forward to a Void release, though. And it'd be especially nice if he came with a new, younger body release as well. ^^

Those legs that Yufe posted look as though they're still a fair ways away from production, though. I (read: my wallet) should be safe for a while yet.

Yes... This thread can move so fast. I wake up some mornings and wonder at the explosion of conversation that happened in the few hours I was asleep! Heheh. ^^

Thank you for the lovely compliment of my Kaien. He's currently hand-less - I'm giving him some black and purple fingernails. I just finished painting the nails for my V-04 this weekend and figured that I may as well go on and give Kaien a manicure while I was at it. I may even work my way up to a good body blushing at long last (given how often the guy is shirtless), assuming the weather clears up a bit. I've got a couple new cans of MSC on the way, so now would be a good time for it.

 

Which body will you put on v04? SDGR body?

 

Yep, my V-04 will be on an SDgr body. I was so pleased with how Takuya looked on the SD17 body, that I figured a smaller version of it will look great for the pretty V-04 head.

The body is currently in pieces, waiting for me to give it come tattoos - but the weather here hasn't been cooperating. It rained for most of the weekend (and when it wasn't busy raining, the wind was trying to tear my house out by its roots!), so I've had to put my tattooing on hold for a bit.

Still, it's fun to be working on him before his head even arrives! It makes the wait less painful.

 

And a Flickr page too. Did you see what they wrote under the picture of the legs? They confirmed it will be a mini. The description sounds awfully... tempting...

 

Definitely a mini, huh.... Thought so. I might be safe then. I've never bought a boy shorter than 62cm. Although I'm open to the possibility, there's never been one I've liked enough. Hrm. I wonder if Granado shall turn the tides for me.

This might be my first mini doll. Look at his(her?) legs! They are so lovely. They point out it will have some anime style, it just make me can't wait for that!
I am still hesitating about Davon... I think I should wait for their first mini.

 

I have my own plans for Davon so I got him blank. If I get company face ups, I can't bring myself to wipe them, even if I don't like them. I do like the one he had, but he's going in a different direction.

 

Oh I will spam him a lot once he gets here and once he has a face. Still working out his character.

Vee! It's been too long since we've seen any of his cocky smirk! I'm somewhat surprised.... that he can actually make that position look comfortable. The dude must be part cat.

It would seem that they have. That chocolate skin tone sure is lovely. I'd love to see a Chaka show up in the sunshine skin tone though. If I did order him, that would be the skin tone I would choose. ^^

 

Didn't they show him in sunshine skin in their neuvo body page? He is a very unique sculpt. the more I see his pictures, the more I like him.
I hope they will release a chocolate girl soon. ^.^

Hey, guys! I just ordered a Davon. I'm totally new to this company. I don't even know why I visited their site this evening because I'd only heard of them once before. I was clearing out some old bookmarks and wondered if they had anything new, and then I saw that beauty. *.*

 

Congratulations! Granado is a great company with some really spectacular molds to choose from... Did you order a body to go with your Davon, Fin Raziel? I'm waiting on a Davon with the nuevo male body - I'm just over the two week mark or so, and beginning to get a little twitchy for him. ^^

I was hit very suddenly with a longing for Chaka which was weird since I didn't have much interest in him before, but I could see him suddenly pining away for my Feeple65 Chloe haha I would have him be her tragic worshipper, looking at her only from afar. ;] haha I can get pretty silly

Yes, I ordered the 64cm body. I liked it the best, and I was excited to see it was also the cheapest. I really love Davon's default eye makeup but I hated his lips, so I thought I'd just commission a faceup and it would be cheaper, too.

At least I'm trying to save a little here and there! Eek, I'm terrible. I need therapy. X_X

 

Hi, I've been following this thread for awhile. Kinda new here so a little intimidated, but I just got my shipping notice!!! Sedonia is in flight!!! She is ten days early too.

 

Hooray for more people! I am loving that more people are starting to take notice of Granado.

Erg... That's what happened to me after I saw him in the nuevo body pictures. Now I'm swinging back and forth between needing to bring him home and holding off for the promised mini (or Void, who I'm still itching for!).

Welcome! It'll be great to see another Sidonia on the boards. Isn't it fun when they ship out earlier than expected? I'm here, hoping that'll be the case with either my V-04 or Davon. Or both. I wouldn't mind if both shipped out early.

Kaien, playing dramatic. He's making good use of the high heel feet Granado send with the bodies (although you can't see his towering stilettos in this shot), and having a lot of fun with it, too. ^^ Once I worked out the lacing trick for high-heel boots, finding shoes for him turned out to be quite easy. Thumbs up to Crocus, for making his feet so small.

 

Congrats! I hope we can see her when she arrives. My favourite is Sidonia and I am so tempted by her

Dis man has ze nice butt, dat for sure. Heehee... Granado bodies look great from every angle!

But yeah, it's not so much their feet which cause the shoe issue - it's their calves. Boots that don't lace up the front are a no-go, because they'll never be able to close over those bulging muscles even if his feet can fit in them.

Assuming your boy can withstand the force of Kaien's innate apathy, they'd probably get along well. XD
So, bring on the Dark Davon! I'm right there with ya: Come on, September!

Interesting note --> I'm planning for my Davon to be lighter, more neutral, in contrast to my V-01 and Takuya's dramatic flare. Heh.

Kirika: Oh my. I love the last shot you posted. From the waist up, his expression and pose makes me think he's some sort of gentleman detective, smoking his pipe in thought. But then you go lower and wham, bam, thank you ma'am!
I mean, most victorian gentlemen probably also didn't wear shorts with their shirt open haha but his expression seems so sherlock to me!

No I love doing face ups. I just wish I could sew better. I think Sedonia is going to be tricky to fit. I made myself a chart of the measurements for the over 62cm dolls ( the ones I know about) and she is tiny but long legged. I have been looking at the measurements for the 58cm types and they all seem to have much smaller waists and of course shorter legs, but similar enough bust and hips. Sh's kind of a hybrid size wise.
I imagine her as a pixie type, a throw back to Mia Farrow.
I really love seeing everyone's pictures. it's so fun how everyone has a different personality!

Frankly, Victorian gentlemen didn't know what they were missing out on... Nothing screams 'I own the world' better than slipping into a pair of hotpants and stilettos, and knowing you make a hell of an impression in doing so.

The outfit is a combination of a Volks ensemble that he's been glued into lately, and a new BBD outfit that I got a little while ago. He fits in both outfits as a whole - I just decided to mix and match a bit for this shoot. The boots and stocking are from Dollmore.

I can't speak for the girls (I don't own any), but clothing Granado boys isn't hard. Look for clothing items that are fitted for sd17, and you'll be set. Easy as pie.
