Granado Doll Discussion Part 8

I feel bad about her not being painted yet, but bare sculpt is sooo gorgeous

Wow, she is gorgeous. I like them bare sometimes, they just look unique.

 

Kaminyari I love her silver eyes and hair!

 

I love the pale, ethereal look of the bare sculpt.

 

Ugh she's so pretty even without a face-up!

 

Kaminyari - Nice! Which sculpt is she? (I do boys, so I'm a little foggy on the girls.)

Everyone needs a good watergun! ^_^ We don't have any beer (imagine what they'd get up to THEN!), but I do have doll sized orange crush, and Pepsi bottles. I had them out in case I used them for this shot, but their hands were full with the guns.

Buckybear - Thanks! I really got incredibly lucky to snag him! I won the lottery to buy him a year ago now. I've enjoyed him so much, I couldn't resist, and ordered one in Tan this last special order they had for either V-05 or V-01. ^__^

 

Waaaa I'm so jealous! That's amazing. I hope they'll sell him again like they just did with Nico I know you probably haven't gotten your new doll yet but would you say you like the tan or normal skin on him better?

 

I actually only have Granado sunshine and chocolate resin in hand. But I prefer tans in general.

 

OH so the color you have now is "sunshine" with Granado?? Wow, thanks for the info (should be obvious but clearly I'm not caught up on resin colors lol)! I really like tans too, especially with companies that have different options for it rather than just pale or dark.

 

@Buckybear: Granado has three tans by now. They are called 'sunshine', 'tan' and 'bronze' :3


And I really love that water gun fight picture. It screams 'SUMMER'

 

Well I kind of figured that they were all "tan" but to my untrained eye, sunshine seems so.... light, you know? But I suppose compared to lily white, it IS tan. Thanks for the info!

mdonline03 - Ahhhhh I see the difference! I definitely am liking that sunshine tan a lot a lot a lot! I love looking at the tan resins, but in a lot of cases, they end up looking not very realistic as skin colors... but this is nice! And especially believable as a tan Asian skin, too

Sunshine is a bit orangey, and the tan is more coffee. Bronze is more brown.

Tan and Bronze are new this year, so it will be a bit before the dolls get out and circulated in these new colors. ^_^

 

Oh wow! Those are really really helpful pictures! I have to say, I really am liking all of their new colors but sunshine is really pretty as a color~ At this rate, I may need to get more than one Granado.... They're so good looking! ^^

Lol well here's the question then: which ones will I end up with?
Im pretty determined to get two tanner ones (hopefully! My DC is pale pale pale) but obviously some look better than others with certain tones~ I kind of like Charles but I just don't know yet! And it SEEMS like they're pretty flexible, which I like!!

 

Once you decide, Crocus will create yet another one you'll love!

I still only have one Granado (Charles!!!! ). But that's probably because I have a bazillion other dolls, so it's not like I'm resisting much...

 

Here's a question on that "can't have just one note"…how many does everyone have? I swear collecting Granado dolls are like baseball cards…you need a set!…I have 3….

 

Granado dolls are addictive! I have a Hansel hybrid and a Mads hybrid in the house currently but I also have a Chaka (full doll) on order as well as a Fabio head coming. I'll have more Granado dolls than any other type of bjd pretty soon!

 

I have two full dolls (Hansel and Andrew) and two floating heads (Mads and second Hansel). The worst thing is that Granado doesn't have dolls that I wouldn't like to have (I could own every single one of their dolls, even the girls, despite the fact that I prefer boys). I'm so afraid what the future brings - they create divine male headsulpts.

 

I have Davon (and a unfinished Davon), Xavier, Gitana and Guilem, Mads, Katrien, Sidonia, and Terra; with Fabio and Gabe still being made. If I had been able to I would have gotten Boyd, Taya and V05 but there is only so much room/money here. I think kirika has more, or Alewife.

 

I only have Nih- DAVON in tan so far :3
Fabio and Gabe were tempting me, but it's not in my buget (or plans) and I'm currently saving up for some extras (wigs, eyes, SHOES) and an Iple girl, as well as another body.
Not that that is stopping Granado from tempting me again and again ><

 

I do love my Granado Anne head and once her body gets here and I paint her she will be complete, but I do wish I could have gotten Sidnonia when she was available. Sadly I had other dolls that needed to come home first

 

I think kirika might be the winner. I have two Boyds, V-01, V-02, Titus in asura, Chaka in chocolate, Sidonia in NS and chocolate, Taya, Anne, and a Nightmare Boyd floating head. There are also a few floating bodies and I have to decide who gets those.

Seems like I'm forgetting someone...

 

I just have those three that were playing water tag (Chaka, V-01, Andrew), and a patient Nico head. I've two V-06 heads (tan and white) on order, and another V-01 full doll in tan as well.
They creep up on you when you're not looking.
Or, rather, when you ARE looking...

Yes, the more you look (especially OWNER PICS! YOU HORRIBLE ENABLERS! XD) the more you WANT.
And once you've seen them you can't help but keep going back looking ... again... and again... until you find yourself sitting in front of your pc and realize you've just clicked the final 'confirm' button and ... he/she is about to be yours.
Don't question how and when you went through all the ordering process. It's the Granado effect :3

@mdonline03: It's either that or that the company suddenly wants to discontinue the mold you've been oogling over forcing you to make once decission: Buy him or not buy him and risk never being able to get your hands on that mold you love in the color you want - forever.
:P That's what happened to me and it's obvious what choice I made. Given the fact that I wanted him in the new tan, it really was a 'now or never' chance. Thought I'm sure he'd have been lovely in other colors as well, the way he is now, he is perfect to me

 

BAH. Well, to be honest, if I ever see V-01 back in stock OR even second hand, I will immediately drop the money. He's the only one I'd do that for.... But still bad

 

Hi folks!

Today my Maiden body has been shipped from Granado. Can't wait to see it in person, even thou the head it was meant to, probably won't match the skin color and I'll have to switch to another head, I'm super excited nonetheless^^

 

I've been rather inactive of late. We're doing sleep training and a certain someone is not cooperative. I can't keep my eyes open unless you spam me with great Granado pictures. hehehe

Jim's face-plate popped off and landed on my tile floor, nose first of course. Imagine me in slow-motion lunging for the head, failing, and crying out, "Nooooooooo....." I had a moment of panic but was happy to say that he survived without a scratch. I am SO glad his nose didn't chip. My magnet had come unglued! *le gasp* I'll be fixing THAT this weekend. Can't have Jim losing his head over every little thing. ha.

I can't wait to see your Maiden body Angelic! I bet she'll be just perfect.

 

Trethowan I am glad Jim was ok! There is always that awful moment when you pick up a head and look at it..but they are surprisingly sturdy, thank goodness.
But I have spam! I sent away Teodor (Mads) head to Lachlana and she made him...amazing:

 

Trethowan- Eep! I'm glad no harm came to Jim. One of my Dollshe's has a tendency to loose his head as well. I've had a few near misses.

Fishcake- God, Teodor is perfect! I saw some pics on Tumblr this morning. Beautiful faceup!

 

Trethowan - that always makes my heart stop for a second! SO glad he came out unscathed (well, except for the magnet, but that's totally fixable!)!

Fishcake - Wow. Just Wow.

 

BlitheFool I asked Lachlana to make the "grown up version" of the faceup I had on him and she did... some kind of magic on him! I have trouble believing he's coming back here to my house And thank you!
aernath thank you too! I had to run and get a wig for him since the old fur one would be sad on that face. I just hope it ships quickly. That sculpt is so neat, I hope every now and then Crocus Lee will have a "Mads" moment for people who missed him.

 

Fishcake - your Teodor looks like a rock star. Dark, handsome, sexy, tempting, irresistible, awwww, I have no words!

I finished paying off Chaka today!

I just had to share the joy. It's so exciting to see that button switch to 'preparing'. Hah hah.

Hi, any suggestions on where to get jeans for the Granado Nuevo male body? Most sites just have 70cm sized stuff but I'm not sure if they'll fit his thighs...>_<

 

Cian look for stretchy stuff because the calves are large too! (It's a real issue with boots, too)

Late to the party on this answer- I've got my two hybrid boys, and a floating Charles Sunshine head. I love the Granado heads but none of them have fit my characters, so I am figuring out what to do with Charlie. Maybe someday he will get a body of his own!

 

mdonline03 Lachlana took my old attempt and just made it so much better all around..I wish it was easy for me to send away heads, because the results are a lot better than my own scribbles..but i hate to part with them! Thank you too!

 

hahahaha.... exactly. Big boy might've cracked the floor. All of my doll crafts have been moved to a carpeted space now, so I'm feeling better about dropping them. LOL Cause I know I will. I drop everything!
