Hi, I'm still getting used to how to use this forum so I hope I'm posting this correctly. I wanted to know if there's anyone who has any experience with matching Granado Bronze with either Dollshe's Pale Tan or Tan? Been trying to hybrid my Granado head and did find a good match with Iplehosue's Dark Brown but have been looking at Dollshe/Dollstowns 18 bodies instead.
Just as a heads up, careful with buying from Dollshe if you’re not getting them secondhand. Check out the waiting room and you’ll see people who have been waiting for three years for their orders, even if they didn’t order faceup. Good luck on your resin matching!!
Thx for the warning, I'm well aware of the insane waiting time that company got, like WOW. I'm actually looking into getting a Dollstown body over Dollshe but I know that Dollshe cast for Dollstown and use the same resin colors. But If I ever were to get something of Dollshe I'd probably go for secondhand anyways just because of that waiting time.....again just WOW. Thx, I hope to find a good resin match and I wish you a continuing nice week!
The colours do actually work! It's not a perfect match, but it's damn close! Granado head (2019), Dollshe body (2016), Fifth Motif hands (2018): IMG20201022184543 by Liz, on Flickr
Omg!!! That's actually a pretty darn good match! Want to ask which type of tan his Dollshe body is, Pale tan or Tan?
I think once blushed, it'd look seamless. This is the Dollshe Pale Tan resin. Their tan is a much darker, umber-like tone. I thought I had photos of them together at a meet, but apparently not.
Thx! Was advised by a friend that it was better to get a darker body than head when hybriding, hence me looking at the Tan since I didn't have a ref and feared that Pale Tan would have been too pale to match. But knowing now that Pale Tan is a valid option and can work I think I feel more comfortable and at ease in getting a body in that color. Super thx for your help!!
The Granado bronze boy I have is from several years ago, as is my Dollshe but Dollshe's pale tan is a lot redder than Granado's bronze. At least the older bronze was a bit on the milky side. Here's a link to a comparison I did of the two: Blithe's BJDs Of course, there's a chance the resin colour has changed since I bought mine? I don't have anything recent I'm afraid Annnnd, I didn't notice the post above mine. Apparently they do match! I'm not very helpful!
Having more than one reference is still very useful and I thank you for sharing your own experience too with these two different resin colors! Not sure when I'll actually get this body for my Granado head but I still feel more at ease knowing that the difference isn't super huge and is still workable.
I should add, if you ever buy a single head or body from Granado, and then later want to buy a matching head/body, you can tell them the number on your CoA which corresponds to their resin batch number and they can match it for you. So while they won't cross match between companies, they will happily remake resin batches for repeat customers.
That I had no idea about. Learning something new every day. Will for sure try to remember this new information for future use. Thx for letting me know about this!
