Wigs Grams of hair?

Unfortunately it's going to depend on how voluminous you want the wig, what style you're going for, what hair texture you're going for, and how much experience you have with wig making. I used a little less than 1oz (28g) of mohair wool for my first 6-7inch wig using the sewn wefts and lace cap method. That number is counting any wasted fiber that either had to be pulled out of my sewing machine or otherwise came loose from the wefts. This was for a completely straight middle part wig that reaches about the mid back with plain straight bangs and little volume. The general ballpark I see recommended is 19-28grams (or .7-1oz) no matter the fiber for a 6-7 inch wig.
