GomiDoll Igon

I did, I actually fell in love with a sleepy Igon mold, and I ordered him in white skintone (most people seem to prefer normal according to the Gomi website).. The 1st preorder is going to be shipped out on October 14th. (It includes 6 people Sienna ordered for). Can't wait!

Sienna ordered for me, so I guess I'll have one from the first batch. Will definitely have photos once he arrives.

 

Did anyone order him with a face-up?

 

Sienna didn't ask me about a faceup (or skin color, now that I think about it), so I'm going to assume that I'm just getting...a blank normal skin head. =^^=;;;

Faceup would be nice, though.

 

I ordered sleepy Igon with a face-up. The confirmation I received today said that he'd be shipped after Oct 14th when they came back from the caster, but didn't specify how long after.

 

I ordered one (with faceup), though I'm also planning on getting an open-eyed head when it comes out if I can afford it.

 

Is he going to be another Wraeththu by any chance?

I decided to go for the face-up since the photos were sooo cute, and I didn't have any really specific plan for St. James' face yet and it was free. Though I might have to change it a little to make him look a bit more...weasel-like. ops:

 

I'm keeping the Wraeththu names within my MSD-size family - he and his tentative brother will probably have Japanese ones. ops:

Yeah, I also ended up asking for a face-up because of the photos. Especially the lips, because I'm not so skilled yet at doing them myself. XD

 

ops: I should have requested a face-up (free! lol), but I didn't. Although I am pretty sure that I can find somebody talented here to do a face-up. ^_^

 

I'm getting one too. I fell absolutely head over heels for the sleepy look. After swearing to myself I would never fall for a dreamy-eyed doll, ha... He just suits one of my characters perfectly, and more so than the Volks mold I originally planned for him. No face up for this boy, part of the reason I wanted him was to try and do it myself ^^

Poor thing, who knows how my efforts will turn out ops: *nervous on his behalf*

 

I must be the only Wraeththu fan in existence who hated Cobweb. xD;;

I'm not getting Igon, but I am planning on getting Iru! November can't come quickly enough. =_=;;

 

I'm waiting for the open-eyed head...but also the board said you had to send Western Union money and I kind of balked at that.

The boys aren't Wraeththu, they're just named after the characters. Though Cobweb did turn out to be a lot like his namesake... XD

 

I want to know what female bodies the Igon takes...

and if the new skin SD13 boy body is the same as pureskin... (or are new skin and pureskin two different things?)

Since i want a smaller girl (SD sized) if she ever ends up with a body...

... it'd be nice to know...T.T

Anybody else got one in white skintone, and if you did, what body do you plan to use? I am thinking he looks pale (chalk white, to be exact) enough to be put on Luts BW, but then again, I am not really familiar with Volks bodies... ops:

 

Don't worry, we'll swap everybody's head around and post photos. Well, I doubt Magnus will participate, judging from the results of the horrible Hound/El swapping incident. The Kill_U 2nd Special head that was originally intended for St. James (and will now be idrisfynn's Max) will be arriving soon, too. Yay!
I'm hoping to get St. James a slender FCS body from the LA store in February if the resin matches well enough. I don't want too many of the boys in the house to have the same body type. Everyone else is supposed to be a lot bigger than Kaspar and Max.

 

Thank you ^___^ To me Igon looks a bit younger, and CP bodies are more slender. We'll see though :grin:

Ahahaha....no I disliked him for a good long time. Probably because I like Cal and Cobweb was really nasty towards him for a while. Towards the end I just became indifferent towards him though.

I was thinking of BJD inspired by Wraeththu too, but don't know if that's ever going to happen. My Kiryuu certainly reminds me of one...maybe he is one and he's just not telling me.

My poor boy isn't going to have a body for a while. I'm wondering if the normal skintone will look alright with the CP normal skintone... I think it's harder to get your hands on just an SD13 body, ne? I've seen them drifting around on ebay, etc. but i'm worried that I wouldn't be able to find one when I was ready!

I'm dying to find out if the DoD resin will match :p (given they look slightly darker in colour...since there's much more white light around the photos)

 

What I want to know is what's the revised half-eyed Igon head? Is it a single moded head or what? It's so perfect. I'm just curious. I have been ever since they went up.

idrisfynn: Ah, good to know it's definitely a task to find an SD13 body. I heard somewhere that Kakyuu can occasionally get them, but I now I know I definitely can't bank on it! Here's hoping the CP normal resin will match, otherwise the search for Gin's body might turn into a full on campaign...

On a different note, does anyone have character sketches/plans for their Igon? I'd love to see if you do! ^_^

Zalem: Yes! Hehe. xD; It's because I was so in love with Pell/Cal that every one Cal ended up with I hated. Cobweb, Terzian, Swift, Panthera -- argh! It's why I was especially displeased with the ending because Pell and Cal don't end up together again without Caeru being in on it too. Grr! I guess polygamy may work for hara but it sure pissed me off! xD

 

Here's a quick mock up... i'm still trying to find an aesthetic way to add the wig, body and extras... w00..at least its basically all there o.O

Yup. They've had pics up for a few days... I'm still waiting for a response to see if they'll be selling them or not... I hope to find out soon. If they arn't then I still want to order a normal half-eyed head.

I'm all nervouse because I want to make sure I get in before the deadline if that's the case.... *chews fingernails*

 

Sleeping Igon is all sold out according to the Gomi Doll website. I wonder if they will make more in the future?

idrisfynn prodded me to post this here, so I removed it from the concept art thread. I need to do some more sketches once I actually see his little head.

And this is an old drawing of Aaron St. James (whose ID I swiped ages ago because he spends an inordinate amount of time in front of the computer). I was thinking he needed to be a heavily modified SA Hound, but he's just too big. He's sort of pushed to the front of the line because he'll be really fun to create. He's got a lot of piercings, full body tatoos, and he likes to wear twenties flapper dresses with big platform boots!

They confirmed the order of a girl called momoQI?...and she's paying on the 12th.

What do they do with all the heads that didn't sell..? To local customers?
And if there were only 12 heads ordered (6 by sienna...6 by the board); does that mean the head was limited to 12 owners? T.T

Ahh.... I can't help but feel really guilty for ordering one; especially since 'she's' going to be modified. Maybe i should wait to see what the revised version looks like to give those who want the half-opened eye a chance to have one?

There are pictures of the Half open eyed Igon ... but i've seen no other pictures..unless you mean they're in the gallery?

 

I'm sad to hear about those who missed out (Now I'm nervous that my payment didn't make it through in time either...)

The maker is going to be releasing a revised open-eyed one in the future, isn't she? Or... some sort of revised Igon head, anyway. So perhaps there's no need for despair! Just a need for patience. I think if there's one thing this hobby is going to teach me it's how to be incredibly freaking patient.

That's one of the images. when you click on this one in the gallery at the bottom it says in english that it's the revise half eye head.

 

At first i was slightly upset that i missed out on the original normal Igon..now i'm beyond all happiness.. I figured that sanding it down would be easier than epoxying it up and i'd be able to carve the exact shape i wanted.

I've got an Igon head coming to me, with a face-up, and his character is sort of a secret. It'll be several months before the poor thing has a body though. But by then I should know what kind of body will look best!

Ahh... maybe you could order the revised half open Igon and make the eyes smaller?
I took a look and i'm not very fond of the way they were opened; the inner parts are too wide and so are the ends; while normal igon was very soft.
I just guess i'll end up sanding everything down :: cries ::

I really wish you luck on getting an Igon; maybe i should have ordered two...
