USA Georgia Meetups

I'm in Georgia too, but I'm in the metro Atlanta area, so not exactly close. I know there are a handful of other Georgians on here, but I'm not sure exactly where they're located...

 

Bout 4 hours south of you in Jacksonville, but often in the Grovetown/Ft. Eisenhower area of Augusta...?

 

I’m in the Augusta area! I’m just seldom on these forums anymore and could never get anyone nearby to meet.

DragonCon in Atlanta had doll activity last time I went. MomoCon and AWA should too but I’ve never been to those personally.

 

AWA and Momo have had doll meets and events in the distant past but I haven't seen any recent workshops or events on the schedules in the last few years. I live in Alabama but come to Atlanta a few times a month! Typically I'll be in the Buckhead/Midtown area when I'm in town. I'd be interested in a future meetup! What kind of dolls do you like or currently have?

I am also located near Augusta GA area in Grovetown GA. Moved here almost a year now. I used to live metro Atlanta area, but now it's a 4+ hour drive. If there's any doll meet up during Momocon, I'll bring my dolls.
I haven't been very active on DOA. Just jumped in to check if there's any doll meetup during Momocon.

 

For those of us in the CSRA, there’s supposed to be a BJD event at the Evans/Columbia County Library in early June. I heard about it from other BJD owners at the PENcraft Guild that meets there too. I keep checking the calendar but haven’t seen it yet.

But hey, if you also write, there are at least three BJD owners who also meet at the PENcraft Guild meetings.

For those in the CSRA (or willing to travel!), the BJD meet at the Columbia Country Library in Evans, GA is on the calendar! June 8, 2-4 PM, there is a "Doll Camaraderie Evening" (even though it's in the afternoon). It doesn't say where on the calendar, but I think the other BJD owners said it was in the Meeting Room downstairs. I'm not the organizer; I'm just passing along the info and will be there.

It says to bring dolls and items to trade if you want!

JapanFest Atlanta 2025 is taking place September 20 and 21 at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth, GA. I've got performance obligations on Saturday but would meet for an informal meetup around those events or on Sunday.

Awesome! And yes, its called Atlanta BJD but really anyone is welcome. We're not the most active but a couple of us have been making attempts to change that. : )

I was planning a meet up at the opelika library in about 2 months if you are interested. Are there certain days of the week that work best for you?

 

Tuesdays and Thursdays usually but I can request off a weekend day like Sunday.
