General Mecha Angel discussion thread!

It's nice to see that the Mecha Angel theme is still alive in 2020. It is very difficult to make photo of them next to other dolls - still very tall guys)

Thanks! She looks very harmonious. I have Spiritdoll 1/3 hands for this body, but they are more subtle, and I don't like how they look with her.

 

Tala, Is there a pic with these hands? On the frames can not as critical may look like live... (;

 

You're right! In general, she looks good on the photo. But compared to her original Soom hand, I want it to be a little larger.
Sorry for bad lighting at my home. It should be noted that Spiritdoll normal is very close to old Soom normal skin.

I also have male Doll Legend hands with veins and they are good size and I love the way the thumb joint is made! But the skin was casted in november and too light for my girl.
So I decided to try her with some old Doll Legend hands without veins (like yours) from market. Spiritdoll hands will be waiting for another 60cm girl.

But male bjd-hands are bigger female 60 cm default hands! You need female bjd-hands for her! (;

Oh! My big dream is SD new male bjd-hands for Bimong!
I plan to order in next year!

So, only just today, I secured a Mecha Angel Antares (so now my Sabik will have his brother home within a couple weeks). Very excited to have a pair! I don't know how Antares will want to look yet, but if he is like Sabik, he will be 'wig picky.' I hope he'll take to blond, auburn, or brown hair, just to make things different.

@sugarcactus I missed your reply originally, but I might have some ideas! Do you have a measurement for the neck by chance? Mecha Angels are fairly tall, but my two (Sabik Elf and Antares) both have quite narrow/tall necks.)

 

I've been terribly remiss, so today (once I've sorted some work stuff), I'm going to wire my Sabik and Antares for better posing.

They've been most patient with me...

 

Very late reply to this, so sorry about that!!! I have an MA girl body with an iplehouse EID girl head on it. No idea about the resin match with a new head, but both of mine are yellowed so they look fabulous together.

the doll beside her is either 65 or 68 cm, just to put in scale how massive this girlie is.

The wiring helped immensely, but I still don't trust those shifty Mecha Angel ankles to stand unattended. They're a little sturdier in boots, but not regular shoes (as they both are now). However, sitting and all manner of arm poses and positions are fantastic now.

I've been considering rebodying them, but at their height, it's an expensive endeavor. I love their heads, and I love the tall lean bodies, but as older dolls they really cannot be said to be excellent at posing.

Draping gracefully (or mostly gracefully) about the place, or leaning? Yeah, they can do that.

I wish I had more energy, I would like to wire my Sabik and Rex too (but traditional sueding is also helpful, especially with ankles). I went through the whole rebodying thought process too at a point, but then again, their old school body aesthetic is what makes them stand out, isn't it, even though they're difficult to play with. And also, the stress of finding a colour that matches that mellowed resin...

 

Your Sabik and Antares are handsome, @Nissa. Oh my. Those silly ankles. Ankle boots kinda help. And the scrawny legs are hilariously out of proportion to the barrel chest. Ah, but such pretty boys!
